Go to a good, symaphetic MP for a start. Try Claire Short who is the MP over by Five Ways. At least she will Know more and be able to help more than anyone here. She will have a office somewhere in Birmingham - give it a ring.

Easyiest thing to do is to go on a day trip to France, then come back in the back of a lorry and claim to be an Albanian cat burglar seeking asylum.

Not only will they give you a passport but also a house, money, and a health check up.

Seriously though as a born and bred Brummie myself, if I hads the chance of living in Jamaica or Birmingham I know where I would go.

If your father had citizenship of the UK then that should also apply to you, whether your mum and dad were married or not. Write to your local MP and the Evening Mail.

Best of luck.

If you have lived in the UK since birth then you are entitled to British Citizenship.

Unfortunately, you could have applied for UK citizenship prior to your 18th birthday, but since you missed that opportunity, the grounds under which you may qualify are:

If during the first 10 years of your life you were resident in the United Kingdom without being absent for more than 90 days in any one of those 10 years, you are entitled to British Citizenship.

In all other circumstances, you have to apply and it's at the government's discretion.

Hire a good solicitor for £200 pounds an hour and You'll get the citizenship for a few weeks!
They tried to do the same with my son even though he is born in Birmingham/UK and he is 4 ys of age.Money can sort everything out, even in UK...

I'm sorry for your situation, the way I understood it was that if you were born in the UK you were a British citizen automatically, maybe you could appeal at the Court of Human Rights. Surely, it's your right to have a British passport if you were born in Britain.

I know your British
you know your British
So why can't the government use their common sense?
I also would refuse to pay £800.
Pretend your an asylum seeker and you will get anything
you want.

Sounds like you're in a pickle. Here in USA our immigration laws are so screwed up. Sounds like you're having same problem over there as we have here. No advice my friend, but I wish you luck. If you find a solution, would you post it so we can know?

Peace Bro
