Both in their prime, Louis would literally spar Tyson into submission. It would be the heavyweight version of the Duran - Leonard fight "No Mas". There are still those who believe Louis was the greatest heavyweight of all time, including Ali.

I don't know about this one its hard to say.

Joe Louis was one of the great ones that ruled the division for 12 years and had 25 successful title defences. It could have been more if it wasn't for the war years. His record is exceptional, 72 -3 win loss record. He lost only to champions, when he was on the way up or past his prime, past champion Max Schmelling, present Ezzard Charles or future champion Rocky Marciano.

Here's the kick prime for prime I would go for Mike Tyson, but then I thought of the fight with the Rock. Joe Louis did well, sure he was past his best but there was enough evidence there to suggest he would have done well against a pressure fighter such as Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson was a better fighter skill wise than Rocky and he never got hit as often but I think it could have gone either way based on the fact that both men are highly polished and extremely skilled practitioners of the manly art of boxing. Believe me they are the two best finishers in the game. I think it would have been a classic similar to the battle of the Z boys. Carlos Zarate and Alfonso Zamora. Two classy talented men with lethal firepower, it was only the height and boxing skills Of Carlos Zarate that won the day but it could have gone either way.

Reguarding this dream fight I think it there is enough evidence to present a good case for either man to come out victorious. I like Joe Louis, he was one of my Fathers favourite fighters but I also thought that Mike Tyson was the man. I remember him as a teenager fighting and beating men in their prime and that takes heart. These are two truely great fighters. I'm sorry but this one is hard to call.

I believe you mean Joe Louis? The Brown Bomber would punish Tyson with stiff jabs for the first 4 rounds and then land viscious hooks and right hands knocking him out in 8 rounds!

Mike Tyson could not have carried Joe Louis' jockstrap, or cup for that matter...
The Tyson legacy is a joke....

How about Joe Louis split decision? Tyson could be hard to hit when Rooney was training him and I'm assuming they're fighting in their primes.
