In six more months it will have been 4 years since we started the war. World war two lasted just under 4 years. How come we can't end the war in Iraq? Do I hear another Vietnam?

No hate the soldiers thing here...I like that! While I don't think you hear anything that doesn't come out of your own mouth...See this and think of a career adjustment...On August 7th, 2006, Reuters pulled the 920 photographs taken by Lebanese freelance photographer Adnan Hajj, of Beirut, Lebanon, during the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict, of which at least two were shown to be significantly altered prior to publication.
With your perchance to write hateful, propagandist articles perhaps you should apply to write the stories that accompany fraudulent pictures!
In the '70's American democrats left American military out to dry in Viet-Nam, and now you are suggesting they do the same again!
Self fulling prophesy or showing their Anti-liberty, Anti-Individual agenda? With the background you claim I would think that you would have a different point of view.

World War two lasted just under 6 years for many countries.

To answer your question, yes I think that everyone is tired of Iraq, not least the soldiers who have such a difficult and dangerous job out there, and the people of Iraq.

There is extreme violence and dis-order, propogated by people with political and religious motive.

Thats why the soldiers cannot come home yet as there is no civil authority to hand over to.

The parralel you constantly try to draw with Vietnam is just not there as the casualty rate, commitment, and mission is entirely different.

WW2 is an entirely different league altogether as more soldiers and civilians would be lost in one hour of WW2 than in the entire Iraq scenario.

I am tired of reading questions about Iraq though, which do not offer any sensible ideas for how the troops could be brought home at the same time as improving the situation over there, bearing in mind that the U.N will not touch it with a barge pole and the French have already got their hands on the oil.

And attitudes like that is what causes us to lose wars like Vietnam and maybe at some point Iraq. We bombed people into submission in WWII and lost more soldiers on D-Day than we have in the last 5 years of the GWOT. That kind of power is what ended WWII so quickly. The warfare we face today is totally different, with non-state soldiers fighting amongst civilians and terrorists running wild, while at the same time people feel sorry and want to defend them when picked up and put in places like GTMO.

As far as what others have said, Yeah we went there for oil!! Wake up and quit swallowing the Kool-Aid the wack jobs keep selling. If we were there for oil, why is gas so high and why is Iraq still below pre-war production levels? By the way, Bush never mange or worked for Halliburton, KBR, or any of the others in Iraq.

Trying to relate Iraq to WW2 is Democrat sophistry. The answer here is simple: We either win the war over there, or we fight it here. Taking our ball and bat and going home will not mollify the ragheads. Such a cut-and-run, defeatist policy will serve only to embolden them to further attacks on our country. The only way you will hear another Vietnam is if the Democrats start calling the shots in the war. They lost Vietnam, not the military.

Yes I am tired of Iraq We had no business there in the 1st place. If the whole idea was to get rid of Saddam we should have given the Iraqi people the weapons they needed to do the job and let them do it themselves This is becoming just like 'Nam our government got us there now it can't figure out how to get us the hell out

it is ironic really, when Saddam ruled Iraq no one dared to even speak but after Bush decided to an unjustified war in Iraq, almost everyday 50 are killed and many are injured
Also American soldiers are dead everyday and i think Iraq will witness a civil war very soon

Your 100% correct. They ****** up the attack in Iraq so badly that the country is falling apart. If they pull out now the country will tear itself apart and all those deaths will be for nothing.

It depends on the undertable aims! Bush started it to achieve something.. it sounds he didnt achieve it so far .. he couldnt find any WMD , he couldnt find a real excuse for his war except steeling Iraqi oil for companies he used to manage! ... So, ending the war is very simple, .. it would end when Bush is out of this respectful office!....
