Well ur ask sound like .....i wanna built a new car or attend to a related course ......but actually i have no knowledge about cars/engines etc. So datawarehousing is a part. of database programing wich is a part of general programing .....but like u said....."" am a food science graduate with no experience in software."" So first attend to a course using computers then to a course programing computers .....then to a course programing databases ......then finaly u will get the datawarehousing course.
If you wanna know more.....
Feel free to contact me on yahoo messenger for more details.

Datawarehousing requires good knowledge in Databases, and an ETL tool (Extract-Transform-Load) like INFORMATICA.

Without software knowledge, it would be highly difficult for you. Since you are looking for jobs, that would even complicate things. From your background of Food science, get started in the following way:
* learn MS-Office. Its essential for day to day office work.
* Look for functional training in an ERP realted to Consumer goods

No, I don't believe that a warehousing class can be done without some serious knowledge of databases and computers. It would be an extreme challenge if nothing else.
