Well here is the best answer I can think of. Have you ever tried or given thought to a ROUND BOX. I know they can be made, BUT not good enough to hold a pizza, or one where the lid or cover is attached to the box itself for openning or closing. No, A Square box is better.

Because a square box is much cheaper to make and easier to assemble than a round box.

If they dared to make round boxes they would have to make different sizes. Since most pizzas are made according to the discretion of the "Flipping" cook, they do not have to design exact measurements. Can you imagine if the boxes were round. They would have to shave off those lovely crusts that we fight over all the time. Ugh!

Try to assemble a flat round box, as all boxes are shipped flat.

Its easier to stack square boxes, thus maximizing storage space.

A better question would be, why don't they make square pizzas?
