Trains don't float and last I heard there is no tunnel or bridge to cross the Irish Sea. Try bus to Hollyhead and get a passenger only ticket on the ferry. Or hitchhike to Hollyhead and get on the ferry.

If you go by virgin trains they do a deal called a Dublin 14, its £32.00 return per adult and its your train and ferry incluced thats the way i always go. You can go from any major statoin. The number is 08457 222 333. Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

there is a bus service from london to dublin that is the cheapest way to get there
leaves from a couple of places in london area
check out here

never used it. but it is 20 euro one way which is cheap.

I'm afraid you'll have to fly or take a ferry, as you have to go to a different country to get there! Ryanair from Stansted is probably your best bet.
