This information must be on all packaged foodstuffs and (vokka, rum, gin, whiskey, etc.) do contain calories (mostly from sugar) amongst other food values.

I agree completely. I work in a bar and frequent my local liquor store and wonder the same thing. Some alcohols have more sugar then others. Such as your flavored vodkas and scnapps. Its as if we are suppose to know this stuff or maybe it doesnt matter as long as it has alcohol in it. I am diabetic and would like to know the actual pre consumed amount of sugar in my drink. Barcardi advertises - no carbs - no sugars which we all know that alcohol is broken down into sugar but obviously some alcohols do contain added sugar.

The FDA limits nutritional information labels just just food. Beer, wine and spirits are not food.

The Bert Grant Brewing Company tried putting this info on their beers and the government stopped them.

because it's usually accepted that spiris aren't food. the nutrition information only has to be on food.

Its mostly femented sugar and colouring.

becasue most people who drink alochol arent really watching their wieght and diet, at least not actively
