In the days of the Old Testiment, the Hebrew Priests had to pray for the sins of the people and sacrifice a pure animal, such as a lamb. The sins of the people died with the animal. However, it was predicted that some one would come to take the place of the animal.

Enter, some time later, Jesus. He was persectued and murdered by people, not God. IT makes no difference who the people were. God could have intervened but chose not to for the greater good.

Jesus was like the lamb of the Old Testiment, sacrifised so that other's sins would die with him. However, it wasn't only for the Hebrew, or todays Jewish people but for all people. God knew this and so by letting it happen allowed to give the whole world the choice of eternal life. Or in the words of Spock from Star Trek "The needs of the many outway the needs of the few" (don't worry, I'm no Trekkie!)

We humans are responsible for the suffering of the only begotten son of God, Jesus(Who existed together with God the father from the very beginning of everything). The torture to which you refer happened at the hands of the Jews and Romans of the day but it would have been any one of us had we been there at the time, so let's not start blaming groups of people.

The suffering Jesus endured, he took upon himself willingly as part of the plan of redemption of all mankind for our sinfulness, so that we have the opportunity to be in restored relationship with a Holy God. He died so that we might live.

This is not an act of anything other than a love so powerful that it is difficult to grasp much less express. Instead of asking why God is so torturous, I ask how he could love me (and each and every one of you!!!) so much as to take on the penalty for the brokenness of us all.

So that idiots like us would know what it would take to stay true to our faith in him who sent him? No other human on this earth has shown any real sense of brotherhood or sisterhood for his fellow man other than the strife we visit upon each other every waking moment in our lives!
He showed by giving his only begotten Son as a Sacrifice for the original Sins of Mankind's Father Adam!
Only another perfect human being could rid Mankind of it's original Sins.
God showed he love for our worthless behinds because some of us just might make it through . It says that the road to destruction is wide and crowded and the one to salvation is narrow and few find it.
It's no lie , if you decide to open your eyes and see what kind of world you're living in!
Maybe you don't believe in the flood but the rainbow is our reminder that destruction won't come again the world over at the same time.
But can you really be sure that this world will be here as we know if Man continues down his road to self destruction . Or will another catastrophe finally rid those who are destroying it a judgement that it can't recover from. Doubters lived then during Noah's time when he was building that ark in the desert. I guess those people stopped laughing when they realized those doors didn't open to let their jive asses in!

There is a power beyond us. That is nature. Many say it is God and we are the sons of God. If humans are sons, then animals, plants are also sons since those are also created by so called God. But that super power has certain limitations. All religions say pray God to get his favours. Unfortunately poor people pray God more than rich people but in return they get more trouble from God by way poverty, earth quake, flood, tsunami etc.If the God is good then why tsunami. If the God is bad then why we pray? The so called God can not listen to living being as it got bigger work where the welfare of living being is negligible. If human being gets favour praying the God, then why such privilege is not available to poor fish, chicken to save their life from being killed by humans. So there is no point in listening to preachers of God who normally have no other work and not willing to do hard work. The energy we waste on God can be better used for eradication of poverty.

God isn't a person so he cant have a son. God can't do anything for anybody except give the weak something to believe in as they cant see reality and the facts of life and have no faith in themselves. Its an excuse for people justifying their actions or events. Christians say that to get more believers/followers. He was either a mean god, didn't care or just not capable of doing anything about it.

Christians will tell you it is because it is a test of faith, or because Jesus Christ was suffering for our sins. This is questionable, because, as you say, why would God torture his son? This, as well as many other aspects of religion, is perhaps a story created by people, to explain the terrible behavior of what is really other men torturing one man. Men make their own paths, and God does not. But to the point, Christians will also tell you that he didn't save Christ because he sent Christ down to tell people to follow him and the word of his father and be free of sins. He told the people he was, shall we say, a symbol for their sins, and so he would die for their sins, in the name of the one he called his father.

His Son is the only way to salvation. That's to show how God truly loved humanity by letting his Son to be offered as a ransom for the sins of humanity.

Men tortured Jesus Christ. Read about The Agony in the Garden and you may understand the free choice that Christ was given to go through what tortures lay ahead of him. Just like any decision we that we have to make, God does not interfere.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD. THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON JESUS. SO WHOEVER BELIVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH. BUT HAVE ENTERNAL LIFE. Jesus died for our sins so we can be saved from the power of sin. God loves jesus as he loves you and me. He rose jesus from his death after three days, and he gave us the holy spirit who is with us now to protect us from the evil one. So do you say that God is not kind if god tortured his son then why did he rose him from his death. Read the story about Jesus in the bible and you will find out more, or just ask other christians in your church[if you go to church] or some of your friends trust in god maybe hey can help you. GOD IS LOVE.

Another bit of bad planning from our creator. He failed to create a decent path to Heaven and so had to set himself (in human form) up to be tortured to do death and thus enable humanity to meet him after death. Only trouble with this is that relatively few people actually believe Jesus was God in human form.

Can't God get anything right?
