That's 14,000 gays now in legally recognised partnerships in just the first 8 months, this is great don't you think? It's not total equality but it's the equivalent to civil marriage in all but name... sin? I don't think so

Reply to robert92758: I understand where you are coming from, civil partnerships aren't suitable for all of us, but it's good to have the option when we feel we're ready. There will most likely come a time when you are ready to settle down with the right person...now you'll be able to do it! No-ones going to be encouraging you.

Wrong, if Christianity were super gay-friendly it would still be without merit, Christianity is based on a false premise, that the Bible is the word of God. I am not against Christians it's their religion I disapprove of, similarly Muslims and Jews.

AMEN to that!

This is sooo great that the UK is allowing gays to progress. I am VERY happy.

As for the religious.. Seperation of church and state is the best policy. If you don't like gay marriage.. dont' go to a wedding. if you are gay and don't like it.. don't get married. as simple as that.

Fair play, that's fantastic news. The idea that only heterosexuality is "right" and socially acceptable is a remnant from the thinking of another age. Personally, I don't understand why there isn't the option of full marriage and civil partnership for both gay and straight couples.

And to be equally fair, yeah, quite a lot of religious people are now coming to see the equality of human beings, irrespective of their sexuality. So reality is making great strides into religious consciousness. Fact is, you'll always get the stubborn stalwarts that keep pointing to their holy book and screaming "Sinner!", but the more accepted reality becomes, the less and less anyone will listen to them. Hopefully, in another generation or so, people who regard homosexuality as a sin will be as unlikely to gain influence as people who regard black people as "inferior" are today, just four decades after the height of the battle for racial equality. Rationality is winning the battle, it just takes time to change long-held and ingrained prejudices.

i've got in many cases puzzled this, yet i've got in no way established any non secular human beings to return stunning out and bash on a gay guy or woman. different what I see is from people who are not of any faith in any respect. Hate could be modern-day in all areas of society some are in basic terms made the scapegoats.

I think in about 10 years maybe less or more..gay people will start getting even more acceptance. We are just sometimes slow to change.

Well, being a group of "majority" or "many" does not necessarily mean "correct" or "right". That's why religion has been preaching the truth for generations.

It really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, it is God that rules over creation. He has the final say in all things.

Religion is the opposite of reality. That's why people run to it.
