Atheism isn't a belief system, it's not a doctrine of belief..but I think more people will reject the increasingly lunatic religious element in society and come to a non-theistic position..true separation of state & religion, it doesn't exist yet but this situation is now highlighted and openly discussed more & more..it will come.

To be quite honest, I would rather that people remain somewhat agnostic. Some people are capable of changing their worldview easily, most are not... I fear that one end of the spectrum of belief or the other would be difficult to change once adopted.
But, that's just my opinion... and therein lies the problem. I love freedom more than just about anything and would not want to force anyone to believe as I do. And force is what it would take to change the beliefs of our society as a whole.

People should be free to believe in what they want ? Under these circumstances wanting athiesm to grow is wanting something similar to wanting buddhism and islam to grow.

The fact is, making it a religion completely defeats the purpose of atheists in the first place.
So to answer your question, no. There isn't a need to categorize EVERY SINGLE PERSON in this world into a religion. I certainly wouldn't want it. What, would we have weekly sermons on Sunday telling us "This week's hot facts"?

You are assuming it will? Maybe belief in Islam and Buddhism is growing (are they?) because they aren't always trying to shove their beliefs down everyone's throat.
Who else besides the Christians are always so aggressively and rudely trying to shove their beliefs down everyone else's throat? Come on, I bet you can guess...
could it be the athiests?

Who knows? I see agnostic being a majority possibility before atheists because people are more accepting of agnostics.

Atheism can never be a major belief in this nation. Rather, it is a major disbelief in the truth.
