Once upon a time (75 million years ago to be more precise) there was an alien galactic ruler named Xemu. Xemu was in charge of all the planets in this part of the galaxy including our own planet Earth, except in those days it was called Teegeeack.

Now Xemu had a problem. All of the 76 planets he controlled were over-populated. Each planet had on average 178 billion people. He wanted to get rid of all the overpopulation so he had a plan.

Xemu took over complete control with the help of renegades to defeat the good people and the Loyal Officers. Then with the help of psychiatrists he called in billions of people for income tax inspections where they were instead given injections of alcohol and glycol mixed to paralyse them. Then they were put into space planes that looked exactly like DC8s (except they had rocket motors instead of propellers).

These DC8 space planes then flew to planet Earth where the paralysed people were stacked around the bases of volcanoes in their hundreds of billions. When they had finished stacking them around then H-bombs were lowered into the volcanoes. Xemu then detonated all the H-bombs at the same time and everyone was killed.

The story doesn't end there though. Since everyone has a soul (called a "thetan" in this story) then you have to trick souls into not coming back again. So while the hundreds of billions of souls were being blown around by the nuclear winds he had special electronic traps that caught all the souls in electronic beams (the electronic beams were sticky like fly-paper).

After he had captured all these souls he had them packed into boxes and taken to a few huge cinemas. There all the souls had to spend days watching special 3D motion pictures that told them what life should be like and many confusing things. In this film they were shown false pictures and told they were God, The Devil and Christ. In the story this process is called "implanting".

When the films ended and the souls left the cinema these souls started to stick together because since they had all seen the same film they thought they were the same people. They clustered in groups of a few thousand. Now because there were only a few living bodies left they stayed as clusters and inhabited these bodies.

As for Xemu, the Loyal Officers finally overthrew him and they locked him away in a mountain on one of the planets. He is kept in by a force-field powered by an eternal battery and Xemu is still alive today.

That is the end of the story. And so today everyone is full of these clusters of souls called "body thetans". And if we are to be a free soul then we have to remove all these "body thetans" and pay lots of money to do so. And the only reason people believe in God and Christ was because it was in the film their body thetans saw 75 million years ago.

Great Science Fiction story !
Whoever sent it to you should find out who made it up originally.
They could well become a great Science Fiction writer in the future.
As a Scientologist for the past 35 years I think I am entitled to say that I can recognize great creative talent when I see it !

Just for the record this story about Scientology is FACT.
(Which is different from FICTION by the way)
Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. When I say "applied" I mean you actually use it in your life to change or improve existing conditions. This is different from a religious practice. All religions if you learn about them have a basic philosphy, but they also have certain dogma, rituals and observances, and a certain faith or belief is required. There is nothing wrong with this, but Scientology is not that kind of religion. It does not intrude on anyones faiths of beliefs particularly in the area of God , the Supreme Being, or the Infinite. This area is left totally up to the indivdual, which is why you can be a practicing Jew,for example and still use and apply the priniciples of Scientology in your life. It does not conflict. If anything it will enhance your understanding of your chosen religious practice.
You can have no specific religious beliefs and still benefit from using it.
And it is only true for you according to your own observation and experience with it.
It is a non denominational religion . The dictionary definition that applies:
Religion: The spiritual or emotional attitude of one who recognises the existence of superhuman power or powers.

The most basic principle of Scientology is that YOU are your own immortal soul, that this is not a "thing" you HAVE but what YOU actually are.
The whole purpose of Scientology is to increase an individual's understanding and awareness of himself. And thereby his native abilities .
When you do this the sphere and zone of his positive influence increases and moves outward into his life, his family ,his friends, his groups and mankind which he is part of.

How this result is achieved is the "technology" of Scientology, which was developed by L.Ron Hubbard after his extensive research and the discoveries he made, about the human spirit. The basic religious philosophy and knowledge of Scientology is very old, going back 10,000 years at least to the Veda or Vedic Hymns from the East. The developement of the technology is new.
He completed his research before his death in 1986 and left all of his results and copyrights
to the Church of Scientology along with most of his considerable estate., when he died.

He published a book in 1951 to communicate the basic principles he discovered called: " Scientology The Fundementals of Thought"
There are currently over 8 million Scientologists in more that 150 countries world wide. However we are a new religion, only 53 years old.
The true story of Scientology as a religion goes like this:
1. A philosopher developes a philosophy about life and death.
2. People find it interesting.
3. People find it works.
4. People pass it along to others.
5. It grows.

Sorry is it's not "scary" enough for you.
(maybe it is, some people are "scared" of almost anything)

Wow, they had income tax 75 million years ago? Wasn't aware that there even was such a thing as an income, let alone a government (or people for that matter...), back then. Amazing, you learn something new every day...
Hang on, they also had Psychiatrists??? And propellers? AND ROCKET MOTORS? CINEMAS (3-D at that)? H BOMBS? Electronic traps?
If this is what they truly believe, then I seriously worry about Tom Cruises' sanity!!!

Oh its scary, very scary. The weird thing is that people pay a litteral fortune to get to the higher levels. I have read articles where people have got to the highest level and go into a room where they are given a copy of the BIG SCRET to read, they said that it was like something a 12 year old had wrote.

As Hubbard the founder of scientology once wrote, the quickest way to become a millionaire is to start your own religion, I would say tht there is a great chance it is all a fraud.

Theta, Gandalf, want to know the source?

It was L Ron Hubbard, and Theta you paid thousands for this story, why deny it now? Assuming that after 35 years you at least got past OT III...

How do I know it was Hubbard? Aside from every ex-member over OT III confirming this story, it came out in court, and you know this too. The Church agreed these were the real OT levels, and you can even see a page or 2 in Hubbard's own handwriting.

Here is the UNDENIABLE EVIDENCE this is from Hubbard and Scientology:

First page in Hubbard's own handwriting:
http://www.xenu.net/archive/OTIII-scholar/

Court Released Documents concerning the OT Levels:
http://www.xs4all.nl/~kspaink/fishman/index2.html

Summary from an ex-member
http://www.xenu.net/archive/OTIII-scholar/atack-ot3-summary.txt

It is so obviously true, that even Wikipedia is able to maintain its article, http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/xenu

So Scientologists - STOP LYING!!!! (Gandalf you never got here, so look at the documents and you will see I and the questioner are correct).

People should be informed about a religion before they join it, so tell them!

It's not a religion, it's a sci-fi book written by a good storyteller that people started believing. Like Dan Brown, he'll tell you himself that he wrote a book to tell a story - not some secret kept for 1000s of years that only he knows about. Otherwise why hadn't you heard it before?

Scientologists are a little nuts and make up thier rules to suit themselves, which is fine as they don't hurt anyone. But it is more of a cult than religeon.

I find the regular practice of scientology by people who are not in the inner circle of it to be doing something reasonable by practicing a belief that resonates with them. I have also done some reading, particularly about the inner circle and what is really going on at the core, and that stuff is downright scary.

That's brilliant - it's like Flash Gordon, Star Wars and Ghostbuster all rolled into one!

Slight problem: Human life first appeared in North to Central Africa - a geographic location which is somewhat sparce in the volcano stakes. But the spaceships and evil overlord sound very likely!!!

Keep well away from those Scientology freaks! A woman in Ireland recently sued the Scientologists because they ripped off all her bank accounts and basically kept her dependent on them. They use free "personality tests" to find out your weak points and then they exploit them to their own advantage. Steer well clear, that's my advice. You have been warned!
