My best friend decided that she is going to keep her baby that she is having. There are people(like some of her family) who will try to discourage her from having it. Although this is something that she wants more than anything(and is very much against abortion) she wants to know a good medical reason that she can say she has that is preventing her from having an abortion. I told her to say that her body is physically ready for it and the doctors wont let her have an abortion b/c if she does she can die. I also told her to say that there's a slight possibility but by the time her body is ready she would be to far along. please help us find something that she can use that is going to make her look like an idiot.

they know she's against it but this is how she wants to go about it. she knows telling the truth is going to make her situation worse. she feels like having a mdeical reason would help her out alot

There is no reason why she should have to lie to her family. If they can't support her decision, then she needs to let them deal with it. Even if she is a teenager, they can't stop her from having the child. It is her choice.
I can't give you a medical reason why she can't have an abortion. But she could maybe say that she is afraid of what she will feel in the future if she does. Will she forever wonder what might have been? I have a friend that was forced by her family to have an abortion.. nearly 20 years later, she still regrets the decision she made.

when i got pregnant at 17 my mom got really peed off at the appointment when the doctor said what ever i chose was my choice when it came to keeping or aborting the baby . neither one of us had even considered abortion at all . it was just the doctor stating it was my choice that made her mad.
does she go to church ? there may be some great support there . or have her call a pro life place locally for their help and advice .

i think it would be best for her to talk to someone who knows about pregnancy and abortions so they can better educate her so she can give valid reasons why not to have one . also they may be able to tell her if she has the choice to go against her parents and not have one . this is something i dont know much about as far as state to state laws .

You WANT her to look like an idiot? I agree with the first person. Just tell the truth. She shouldn't have to lie. So she doesn't believe in abortion. No one can force her. The truth will set you free. :o)

This is REALLY sad!!
I dont see why she should try make an medical "EXCUSE" to keep her baby!?
If her family doesnt approve of her having a baby, then they don't deserve the love and joy that a newborn baby brings...and they should pity themselves for acting in such a way!
Its HER life and HER baby! There is NO REASON why she should need her family's approval to keep the baby!

Tell the truth...I don't think anyone can FORCE her to have an abortion no matter how old she is or isn't.

well, truth is the best option, but if she was forced to have an abortion, she might became so mentally ill, she'd have to be on meds..unfortunately I have know someone this happened to..
