Australia.
1) if by settling down you mean having children you will never have the opportunity to travel that far again for a long time, unless you enjoy the challenge of 24 hours in a confined space with bored children.
2) you can spend as much or as little as you want and still experience many unique and unforgettable things - many of the best things are free or really cheap.
3) everything I encountered was good value for money
4) which other country can offer fabulous cities, fascinating heritage/history, fabulous weather, fabulous beaches, unique wildlife, great food, friendly people, rainforests etc.
5) In 8 days we saw Sydney (climbed the bridge, went to an Opera, ate out, did the tour of the beaches), went to Ayres Rock (sunset trip on the back of a harley davidson, dinner under the stars!), snorkelled on the barrier reef with amazing fish and sharks, went on a crocodile viewing boat trip, stayed in the rain forest and visited the beaches in Queensland.
We have also been to Fiji, Singapore, the US, Canada, France Greece and Germany but Australia is the one we long to go back to.

Mali Tanzania India Cambodia Laos China Japan Uruguay in that order.
So much to see that may be slightly different form the norm.
When your settled down you can still do a normal three week holiday to Thailand/ Australia/S. Africa /Mexico.
So expand your experiances with once in alifetime countries.

Depends on what time of holiday you like (beach or active, etc.) but I think you should go to St. Lucia, and stay in a villa. It's hot, friendly and relaxing, with white beaches, nice locals who speak English, and lots of things to do.
Activities include taking a boat/submarine trip, riding a jetski, perhaps seeing the jungle areas for wildlife (though you may want to stay clear of these as we did) and going to events like turtle watching.

Well I love the Alsace region of France, & the city of Strasbourg especially. Although in France it has a very Germanic feel, with street names in both languages, some beautiful buildings, parks, plenty of little cafes & bars, good shops, a canal system, with boats on it, a fantastic cathedral, parks, street & antique markets & a brilliant Xmas Market - Nov/Dec. - Oh yes, & you could even join the Foreign Legion!!! lol.
Storks abound everywhere, as do macaroons, & tarte flambe - delicious.
The surrounding villages, especially Riquewihr is like stepping into a childrens fairy tale book, & is still as it was in Medieval times, also they have the Alsace Wine! (what tells you I am a tour guide), & that is one of my favourite placed.

Get a backpack and travel the world. It's a big old place and there are too many wonderful things to see to limit yourself to just one!
There's the awe inspiring antiquity of Egypt, the tropical beauty of south east Asia, the incredible wildlife and scenery of the southern hemisphere, the complete lunacy of Vegas - oh, I could go on and on forever - do it all!

I've always liked the quieter parts of the greek islands, the people are very nice , the weather is beautiful, and the historic sites ( Knossos etc) are wonderful places to visit.
