the so-called Middle East Crisis

Definitely until closer to the US elections in the Fall. The Republicans hope to convert Jewish Americans who are often Democrats to voters for them. The Democrats don't want to lose Jewish support either. Plus, crisis situations usually favor the party in power for elections.(If the relationship isn't clear Israel could not continue to exist without US $ - both public and private; the state of Israel was established to look after British interests in the region; now it's for US interests, too; US is not pressing Israel for cease fire but told them in advance, it seems, that they definitely had two weeks before the US would pretend to involve itself. Of course, now it's way past 2 weeks!)

Perhaps it will continue as long as Bush is in power which could be a long time. With the world in such crisis he may continue his presidency by one means or another until well after his term expires so could be in for life. And, of course, he has several brothers, as well.

Remember that the Bush family and Cheney have both made lots of money in big oil. The already wealthy northeastern Bush family wisely invested in Texas oil. Hence, they are also looking after oil interests and this war may be prolonged and expanded.

I looked at a map a few years ago and predicted (I fear accurately) that the US administration was trying to take effective control of all of the countries across from Afghanistan to the Mediterranean. Take out a map and look! These would include Iran, Syria and Lebanon. Not only are there oil fields in the region but there are oil pipelines (or trucking routes) to be protected but once the oil is out of the pipeline it must be loaded onto oil tankers. If they take oil directly into the Arabian Sea they would either have to send the tankers around the horn of Africa or through the Red Sea and Suez Canal.

But, indeed as I look at the map the countries which the US seems intent to invade in Africa (Sudan and Somalia) are both "unfriendly" countries which border the Red Sea! So, perhaps they want to secure multiple routes.

You can learn more about what's going on by reading the history and economics of regions and looking at maps than by news. You know by now that everyone was lied to about Iraq. Liars by their nature tell whatever lies are necessary to "get their way".

I knew the truth and the outcome in Iraq from long-time research into Islamic fundamentalism and the history of the region. Really anyone who had read an Encyclopedia article on Iraq would have known the outcome.

And, do not underestimate the importance of the "military-industrial" complex in the US, the dangers of which Eisenhower warned about. It is the major employer in the US and new jobs are in this sector as well. So, stopping the wars will involve a big "re-think" of the US economy.

And, so, my advice is to limit yourself to one newscast per day (maximum) or ask someone else to advise you if the end of the world comes (doubtful). In that spare time find a good and funny novel (these are few) or if you are energetic read about 18th century Imperialism (including, but not limited to the Zionist movement) and World War I and II and even into the post-war period.

Rent the movie Sabrina with Audrey Hepburn. It is funny and remarkably it talks about Iraqi and Persian (Iranian) oil deals. Rent the movie Reds for it talks about the real causes of World War I.

If it makes you feel better then demonstrate but I doubt its effectiveness as there were massive demos before the Iraq invasion.

Last but not least pray - whether you are a believer or not!

And, if you learn anything from your readings share it on yahoo answers with others.

Looking at the answer a few above me from "Man in the..." is absolutely right. Hitler said the best way to create a nation of sub missives is to give them a common enemy. Well the US's common enemy is "Terrorists" but the middle east fighting has been going on since the dawn of time and as we can see shows no sign of giving up. In the meantime we go to war to fight "terrorists" which would have been fine if we limited it Afghanistan, but the Iraq thing was total b.s. Saddam was a bad man, but there are plenty of bad men that have a lot more fire power than Saddam and were not going after them. Hezbollah has nothing to do with us, they really don't care about us at all, they're all about hating Israel. And I guess Bush was never taught the lesson, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" Interview recently with Kissinger who said Bush should NEVER be home right now, he needs to buddy up to Iran and Korea. Isn't there one thing this man can do right? He's like a textbook for inept management coupled with fascist power mongering.

There has been a crisis in the Middle East for many centuries. It will never end. Once this one is resolved another one will crop up. The people who live in that part of the world are crazy.

It's been going on for hundreds of years, so don't get your hopes up. As for our country's "war" on "terror"...it's a f_ckin' joke! The term "terrorist" is just a convenient label that can be slapped on anyone the government doesn't like just to whip the public into a fearful frenzy while the Feds further erode our privacy, freedoms, and civil liberties. It's like the "war" on drugs...they are saying the same $hit now as they did when I was a kid. And now, 20-something years later, what's changed? There are still tons of drugs, addicts, and dealers...just as there has always been. The only thing that's changed is our level of freedom.

The problems of the middle east will never stop, as long as people are allowed to have their own choices of religions and beliefs, which is likely why the Bible says the nations will destroy religion.

Welcome aboard. It's been boring the whole world shitless for nearly 100 years. When the Jews lose control of the media we might get a break!
By the way, I love your nickname. Do you know it's the phonetic equivalent of the Japanese Foreign Minister, God help the poor bagger.

Probably not long enough .
They'll get a ceasfire , before Hezbullah is destroyed and they'll come back worse than before.
Iran has promised more and better weapons to Hezbullah , so it will all happen again .
