Well, there are more than three "Big Religions" (though, quite honestly, curios as to your POV of what those 3 are).
Also, I think that, from what I understand of the few atheists I know, that they, like the Baha'is, believe in the independent search for truth. That it's alright for everyone to believe what they believe, even if it disagrees with others.
They come here simply to explore and put forth their Point of View.
Same as most of us.
And I, personally, am happy that they are here. The more POVs there are, the more there is to learn and understand about people.
Now, there are some of those righteous folks, atheist as well as bible thumpers, who jump up and down and insult others simply for what they believe, damning them for doing what they, themselves are doing.
Those, in my way of thinking, are no true believers in any thing. They are simply ignorant fanatics or controversy joyriders that show up for no other reason than to start a fight.
Alas, if we are to have an open forum, it will attract the idiots as sure as it will attract the honest opinions.
Oh, the evils of free thought. (please note the sarcasm).

I understand your concerns, but those who misuse religion for practices that harm others are by far in the minority and they are mostly Muslim extremists in the Middle East. How exactly are religious people a menace to you? Christians are peaceful (except in those cases where people misuse this name to fight others, such as in Nigeria) and they live the most fulfilling lives of all, since they are living out their real purpose in life. They do good and are not afraid to tell others what they believe is true, but they don't force it on others and they respect other peoples' beliefs. I propose you do the same. Sometimes I think we should be concerned about all the atheists trying to destroy any form of religion.

i ask your self why each and every physique thinks this internet site is generally atheists. What of all those Christians asking us and others questions. they do no longer exist? I see equivalent factors. no longer all on a similar time of day. yet don't be fooled. there are a number of Christians right here. For some reason the decide directly to sense the minority even whilst being the accepted public.

First of all, there are more than 3 big religions. Second Atheists go here because they have a side and a point to get out as well. With out them you would have a one sided discussion, and that is pointless.

Because we want to understand what religious people think. Just because I don't believe in a religion doesn't mean I'm here to stop your world turning properly...

Lol... you almost made me roll my eyes, but then I saw who was asking. Have you watched the "Root of all Evil" with Dawkins? Talks about many reasons why everyone should be concerned with what religion is capable of. You can find it on YouTube.

I agree with your comment, but I'm here to amuse myself.
What other people believe is their business. If we (atheists, agnostics) leave thumpers alone, they will destroy each other.
Thumpers hate other thumpers even more than they do atheists.

This reminds me of a T-shirt I saw on "It's always sunny in Philidelphia", Death to baby-killers. Religous zealots are immune to rational thought, and act on emotional impulses.
