Why do so many people who oppose Mexican immigration complain about Mexicans not being able to speak English, when they (the complainers) can't properly construct an English sentence themselves? If bad English skills were terms for deportment, many Americans (and most of the Yahoo Answers users) would be deported!

Apparently I’m feeble minded now because I don’t live in a primarily Spanish-speaking area. By the way, Mr. Know-It-All, just because I was born in Michigan doesn’t mean I still live there. You are further proof of the lack of English skills in this country. I read your profile. You must like drinking more than reading.

Writing it and speaking it is to different things.. if I was to go to another country to live.... The 1st thing I would do is learn the language.. Better yet learn it before I went there to live.. I'm 43 and I know better. a perfect example a local fast food chain I guess was trying to save some money and they hired what looked to me Mexican and Spanish that couldn't speak English well. the orders were wrong, I don't know how many times I waited or had to go back, it was getting so bad I was gonna e-mail them and complain and stop going there. well I wasn't alone and other people complained and now they repeat your order to you twice. its been fine since and there is less of the people that couldn't speak English that well I noticed. and another thing I live in America and was born here and I shouldn't have to learn your language, its the other way around you come here you learn our language.

At least the people who aren't as smart as it seems you'd like them to be don't demand that the US cater to them.

Could you imagine calling a customer service center..."push 1 for English, marque numero dos para Espanol, push 3 for gangsta slang, push 4 if you still don't know it's i before e except after c, and stay on the line if you are too stupid to read the numbers on your keypad.

Many of us who oppose ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION...
regardless of the nation of origin...
just want people to come legally instead of pissing on our laws.

Poor English skills are not terms for "deportment", having no permission to be here and drain our infrastructure, however, is.

PS: It's deportation...not deportment...which means behavior or personal conduct. (Since you're so concerned with properly constructed English sentences.)

yeah man, your in Michigan. I am in Southern California. You don't know anything. Have you ever heard of the term ASSIMILATION? Maybe you have, but you have not experienced it. Here in socal, I am a minority. A lot of people get pissed at me because I do not speak spanish(I work at target.) Until you live it, you won't understand it since you are feeble minded.

Because most people who oppose it, don't even know why they do. Most are kids on here just following what they hear or what their parents tell them. Most people think that anything that isn't white, English speaking and Christian Conservative deserves second class treatment.

i don't oppose illegal immigrates because of the language
i oppose them because they are coming here for a fight at least 60% of the illegals coming here are doing so because they don't want the europeans on their continent any longer they might be right about our right to stay however i don't have any other place to go and when the inevitable war starts i will fight them but i would rather stop this war before it starts weird huh this invasion is not innocent

People, in general, are not opposed to Mexican immigration. They are opposed to Mexican ILLEGAL immigration. Or, any other illegal immigration for that matter.
