Ie in olden days they would say the volcano god is angry so demands a sacificed virgin...

Porve us wrong and oh look most believe it so it must be right and are you going to take the cahnce you are wrong and not murder a girl in agony inacase the crops don't grow?

Now its oh you can't prove where the universe came fom ... Well give us a few thousand years to build a bloody big telescope thats 3 galaxies big kinda thing... all we have got to is the moon so far...

And in most sci fiction its only warp drive to go inter planet not inter galactic. So the scale of whats asked is going to take some time.

Does not mean the invisible pink unicorn or god did it.

Likewise your god and not the greek or roman gods or aborigonie spirits or sun god or leprechauns or fairies

The relgious live in the now and the past.

Never in the future acknowledging that we are still developing and evolving and slowly evolving such as aborigonies can't handle alcohol its like heroin to them

Sharf below... Yes you can prove love... relase of dopamine and serotinin in response to finding a suitable mate to reproduce with. In humans as their offspring are helpless and require many years off support to reach independance fully it makes nautral sense for humasn to have something to make them wan tto stay together to make bring up the next generation possible.

Simple logic really.

And just as we aint found a yetti yet dont mean a fossile does not exist... but if you look at the patterns links are likely and we are finding new fossiles all the time, plus er most dead things get eaten not form fossiles.

Faith in a god is little different to faith in smurfs or fairies having made the world or that the tenth kingdom exists with snow white as that requies no proof either.

As for peacful relgion and angry non beleivers... thats as they relgious see nothing wrong in sexaul abuse, abuise of gays, buring folk alive at the stake, stoning girls

“Where are all the missing links?”
We have found an abundance of transitional fossils. What this sort of questioning is implying is that we find every transitional fossil. I will gladly admit such a thing is impossible. It would be like digging up everyone of your ancestors to prove you are a descendent of a Frenchmen. I will give two examples of missing links. One is homo ergaster found to have lived 1.9 million years ago. Fossils and information can be seen here (http://www.mnh.si.edu/anthro/humanorigins/ha/erg.html ). Another missing link is referred to as the Darwin Fish. Simply put this fossil shows the link between fish and tetrapods. The New York Times had an article about it found here (http://www.nytimes.com/2006/04/06/science/06fossil.html?ex=1301976000&en=76a1b46221b5cc6a&ei=5090&partner=rssuserland&emc=rss&pagewanted=all ).

The reason why ceratin ethnic groups have differing genetic tollerance levels to alcohol is due to the availability of clean water. Only people unable to drink clean water due to waterbourne diseases like cholera had any need to drink alcoholic beverages and develop a physiological immunity to the effects of small doses of alcohol. Huges swathes of the population of China have the same suceptability to alcohol as many isolated native peoples such as aborigonals.

If there is a god then I doubt any level of technology will ever prove or disprove God - even if we make teleporters, time travel engines and faster than light baths we still will be no closer to proof of God then we were in the neolithic period.

The shere fact that almost every civiliastion from antiquity to the present day has recognised and debated the existence of the divine shows that either almost all of humanity share a common dillusion on a basic genetic level and only the new race of genetically superior atheist ubermen are immune to this dillusion, or that there is something innatly which attunes man to the divine.
As for the fact that there is more than one religion in the world this situation can easily have come about by different interpretations of the same basic idea - like how people in different countries wear different clothes which are influenced by factors other than simple cos-effective efficeincy.

I have frequently seen the logic of "If we disprove other theories, no matter how tenuously, ours must be right" used by theists. The "disproof" in itself is often a quote from the very thing they are trying to prove. Unfortunately, the self referencing logic of this does not seem to be recognised by theists or seen as totally flawed in its application.

They also do not understand the way that scientists prove theories or what a theory actually entails. A scientific theory is not necessarily a fact. A theory is a way of predicting something, sometimes in general or sometimes in specific circumstances. Where there are conflicting scientific theories and one is ultimately proven wrong, this does not in itself make the other theory "right", it merely confirms that the other theory was wrong.

The scientific world accepts that theories can be disproven. What the scientific world will not accept is that a theory can be proven, only that it can be supported- to maybe eventually be replaced by a better theory.

This doesn't make religion true any more than it makes science false. What it does unfortunately do is to give theists the self-[received appearance of truth due to their "unwavering faith". However, unwavering faith that if you jump of a cliff flapping your arms will let you soar like a bird is still not going top make you fly. The difference between believing in a mythical creature and your own religion's version of creation and the lack of ability to soar off a cliff is that there is an obvious proof of the latter which can experimentally verified whereas the first is only supported by proof of finding this mythical god. We can't actual disprove of faeries using the same logic. Just because no one has seen one, doesn't mean they don't exist. There are however extremely good reasons for concluding that they don't, the same reasons as for leprechauns, dragons, Zeus, Thor and the numerous other "one and only true god" folk tales.

cmon lets get real if you honsetly think thats more believable then a divine creator or designer to the universe, it just shows how you take your orginal question as a joke in the first place. we were an alien kids homework project , ok lay off the kool-aid man, and get real with yourself. Science is the attempt to study the mechanics of GOD but cant quiet explain the unexplainable since GOD is not subject to our laws of space and time and dimensions. Our limited minds cant operate on the frenquency of our creators mind which would mean he is more intelligent than his Creation. I would rather believe in Divine Knowledge than man made (some scientist in lab who thinks there the smartest guy in the world) human knowledge. either way you go evolution or creation it requires faith, believing in A desinger who designed it all is much more likely than random time and chance slowly somehow starting it to where our planet is perfectly placed in our milky way to sustain life and not be burned up by the sun or crushed by the moons gravitationol force.

Can you prove love? Can you prove "faith" in someone you love? What is definition of religious people" to you? I see such anger in the responses of the non-believers, and such "peace and calmness" in the believers. Why? Because they need no proof, they need nothing really, because it does not matter. They have that special something in their heart, God. You see when this happens, your fear and anger just goes away. You have the maker of the universe with you, who could you fear, no one. Once there was nothing, a complete void, and then there was everything. There are things that you will never prove, because you are not God, so don't even try... It is your inner soul, the spirit of the Savior, who God sent to us, to guide us and die for our sins. If you do not believe it, it is your loss, but God is Love. Think about it? Can you prove "Love"?

Yes there are the typical disagreements but believe it or not they do both agree with each other in certain circumstances. But Regardless, it really come down to the whole fact of faith. Without faith there would be no sanctuary for the soul, and for the scientist, there would be no advancement into the future. You need to believe in what you are doing with a certain amount of convection to be able to succeed.

Science and religion don't have to be against to each other. But people have to get past the ideology. That is hard to do. People are stupid and they think in simple predictable patterns.

The battle between these two ideas have polarized the sides. But in reality they can co-exist. Who says God didn't start evolution? Maybe God is the purest form of energy, energy is in all things and it never dies... Sounds like God to me.

you need to look at the facts not just quack and ramble about what you think it is , there is facts out there and you need to sift threw the evidence and then make an informed opinion! First go read your bible, its all there and then go compare to CNN or fox news and see if it don't line up, then go and do a little history homework and find that the bibles is accounted for in the secular writings to. so come on get informed!

If you believe in evolution, than you have more blind faith than I ever could.

There are millions of species alive and fossils of millions extinct. No transitional species exist and no fossils of them have ever been found, yet, trillions of fossils have been found.

Face it, the only logical explanation for our existence is that we were created fully developed, as were all the other species.

The more technology we develop, the more the Bible is proven correct.

Have you heard of innocent until proven guilty

How about right until proven wrong.

If you can prove it, go ahead i'm sure even the most dedicated faithfuls will be glad to know.

But until you prove it, I bet we will have to go on believing in a greater power, a creator.
