Invest in a Bissel green machine carpet cleaner. It sucks the urine out of the carpet as it cleans. I have a dog that had many accidents as she was being house trained. It works wonders. You can also buy carpet cleaners that are made for pet stains and odors. Blot with a cloth first to get all the moisture and then clean.

I personally have gotten out green kool aid, red paint, and old mud out of my carpet by using Dawn dish soap (needs to be Dawn), water and a tooth brush. Scrub the spot with a hella lot of Dawn with the toothbrush, add water and blot. Keep going until the spot looks gone, and then spread the carpet fibers and look at the bottom of the pile to make sure the stain is completely gone. If not, shampoo, rinse and repeat.

Say hi to your dog for me.

Mix one gallon of white vinegar with one gallon of water. Pour it straight on the area with urine and let is soak the carpet, pad, and sub floor. After letting it sit for about 30 minutes, use a carpet machine to pull out as much solution as you can. Your house may smell like vinegar for a few days, but it will dissipate over time. The vinegar neutralizes the urine smell and your house will smell so clean.
A note of caution !!!!! DO NOT use FEBREZE !! This is TOXIC to animals! There have been multiple instances of dogs and birds who have died or became very ill after being exposed to Febreze, a deodorizer/air freshener. Febreze contains zinc chloride, which is very dangerous for animals.
Please do not use Febreze anywhere near your pets!

Some standard things are using a little water and vinager to get rid of the smells, but there are also a lot of products out there you can use. Check your local pet store, many are available. I included the link to the petsmart website where you can compare different products.

Try using white wine, and scrubbing really hard. Then spread with Bi Carb soda and leave for about an hour, before vacuuming out.
Good luck.
