read the label on the tube....if you are having gum pain....try either anbusol, orajel, or clove oil (you can get this in either a health food store or a grocery store). Clove oil is very bitter, but it works wonders in numbing your mouth. Also, if you open a benadryl capsule...the powder inside is an anesthetic. Just rub the powder on the area that hurts with your finger. I would probably stay away from capsaicin......I think it is more for skin and not oral ingestion.

It burns like fire. If you put it in your mouth it may seep into your lungs. That I think may possibly fatal. It would certainly do damage. Just try putting some on your arm and you'll see how bad it burns.

it's probably safe, being that it's a natural extract.
natural Vitamin E rubbed on teeth/gums may also help.

It might feel hot...I'm not sure. But I don't think it would hurt. You are getting it from the health food store, right? They usually know answers to questions like that.
