Well, when you mean it no cocktails, Southern Comfort or Cointreau on the rocks is always good. They have a super taste, and it's easy to swallow without burning you throat. And the next morning.. I promise you.. you won't get a hangover! Cheers! ;-)
PS. Hey people, he's asking about LIQUOR!! Not rum, or whiskey or whatsoever!

I know you said no scotch or whiskey, but those account for most of the "on the rocks" drinks.
Ask for a CC & 7 (Canadian Club & 7up), good drink.
A Glen Livid on the rocks is a good drink.
So is a SoCo Lime (Southern Comfort & Lime Juice)
At the moment, a popular drink to order is a Bacardi Mojito (Rum, lime, & mint). Pretty tastey.

Scotch and Whisky are the classic "on the rocks", sorry. Bourbon is also similar.
You could also try mixed drinks, such as Rum & Coke.
Or you could simply be a grown-up man, and arrive with your Guinness, or your Carlsberg lager, or Sam Adams if you buy American.

Try a flavored vodka. My personal favorite is Skky Cittris. It can easily be drank straight on the rocks or mixed with a little cranberry juice to sweeten even more.
