I've been single for about three years now.. it's upsetting sometimes but most of the time it's alright. I'm a 21 year old college senior. Anyhow, I seem to have dreams about ex-girlfriends from highschool often, and when i wake up I miss them a whole lot. Are there just some relationships your brain won't let you forget about? I wish I could, because when I wake up I feel very lonely.

How you're feeling is quite normal.Obviously they left marks in your life making them ideal.But that's all history now,you've moved on and it's a brave thing to do.You're lonely coz your heart isn't totally ready yet to start a relationship with someone new.Old love,lost love they'll remain imprinted in your memory forever.The more you give the best&worst in you into that period of time all the more you'll be reminded of them when a thought crosses your mind and that's understandable.It's possible that you have these women occuring in your dreams because your subconscious tries to make up with your failings so don't fight it..just accept that people are bound to change.
Go on with your life and hang out with people whom you share same interests with.A positive outlooks reflects positive energy so welcome that aura radiated.

If you are at home, surrounded by super markets, you don't know what to drink first... Pepsi, Coke, Gatorade, ... and many other things. But when you are in the desert and very very thirsty, you only thing about water, you never miss Coke or Pepsi or whatever... you miss the water, you dream about the water. That's the problem with you. There is some desert in your life, if you are single. And you dream about anything could finish the "thirst' you have. Don't worry. Time will get you to an oasis one day.

I think that you keep missing them because you feel lonely now and when you were with them you weren't. You should go out and meet a new girl. You shouldn't be lonely.

awwww poor thing..it very common though...i know im married and have a child yet i catch myself at times thinking of my 1st boyfriend and yes i even get a lonley feeling n start missing him lol
