It depends on the city or area I think. In my hometown one person's salary is enough for both whole family.

depends on the salary and needs of the couple. Unfortunately we are a society of wants not needs.

I don;t think you can live a decent life with just one person earning. If you want to live a Normal about average life then its fine. I would prefer my partner to be working woman.

Well, my husband is the sole wage-earner in our household. He supports me and our two children. I can't say we have anything fancy; certainly can't go out much or anything...we have to make a lot of sacrifices and, even still, sometimes our bills get the better of us. But, we manage.

oh hey yeah! many jobs and careers pay well enough for familes of 4. the biggest trip up for many is not insuring themselves enough, thats everyone dad mom & kids under health benefits, life insurance, and last but def not LEAST GET DISABILITY INSURANCE like aflac or other.

No, I think both individuals should have income. You never know when the person with the income may get sick. Anyway everybody should want their own pocket change.

NO it is must both should work ,,not only to run family ( weather big or small ) but also be financialy independant ,,, which will ultimately help out in decision making ......
