I don't understand why people don't accept illegal immigrants. Why can't we just understand that America is going to hell, and just let it happen. Who cares about sovereignty? Let's just turn into Mexico, a corrupt-police state-hell hole. Let's hold hands and sing along.. If we are bothered by the fact illegal immigrants are lowering the standard of living, let's rename them "flowers of love." Let's turn a blind eye to them saying the US belongs to Mexico, because in la la land it does. "God Bless the USA/Mexico/any one else who wants to join us illegally" I love the New World Order!

Man Mr. Mulder.. you can crack me up.

It sure seems like the US is going to hell. When is the next Coup De'tat going to take place. Will it be successful..

Think of it this way, the sooner we give in (we will lose no matter what) the more quickly we get to be Spanish speaking, blabbering, talking munching, slaves....

Hmmm, that already sounds familiar.

Unfortunately the term "illegal immigrant" is used for lots of people whom you might not want to send away. It's an emotive term that breeds disdain and discrimination. The correct term is "undocumented alien", and it includes a lot of people who are in fact US citizens but can't prove it: such as Tohono O'odham tribe members (Native Americans) who belong to a tribe that straddles the US-Mexican frontier. For political reasons that escape me, Congress has not acted on a proposed bill that would give them similar rights to all First Canadian tribe members, who have full residence and employment rights in the USA under the 1794 Jay Treaty.

There are, in fact, many thousands of persons born to US citizens in Mexico who cannot prove that their mothers (or fathers, as the case may be) lived for the requisite five or ten years (depending on year of the birth). In court it's a question of proving beyond a reasonable doubt.

There are persons adopted abroad and brought to the US as babies but never naturalized. Big mistake, if they ever get caught up in the legal system because their green cards will be canceled.

There are those who have lived in the US 20, 30 or 40 years without documents; or if their parents had documents for them they are lost and untraceable.

There are people whose births were never registered and who have no birth certirficates. That, by the way, includes some persons whose parents were members of "patriotic" anarchistic Militia movements who don't believe in government.

And there are people without whose labor farms and packing plants and factories would shut down because nobody else will do the work, and because Congress won't raise the minimum wage. The people who really control the Republican Party -- the industrial and commercial bosses of America, love the presence of undocumented workers because it keeps wages for real, documented American citizens low too. Think of Marx, talking about the huddled masses at the factory gates. Those huddled masses are undocumented aliens. They keep wages low for everybody in unskilled and semi-skilled trades. And they -- along with all those Chinese who make stuff for $1 a day -- keep prices low for you.

The thing about that issue is, the government truly wants to accept the illegal immigrants. I mean think about it, if we REALLY wanted to keep them out, we wouldn't just have a few border patrol guards here and there. We would build a thick wall, and arm it heavily. The government would also put a heavy fine on employers for hiring illegal immigrants, and conduct random checks on top of that. America really does want illegal immigrants, but accepting them as legal would force us to pay them fair wages. And would force us to give them fair health care and other insurance benefits, as well as legal hours, breaks and lunches. We don't want to make them legal because it would cost a lot of money. The only reason we're pretending to "take steps" to stop them from coming in is to distract people from larger issues. The real question here is, what are those other issues?

If we accept them, they are no longer illegal. The point is that if we allow immigration to continue legally and illegally, there must some reform that makes these people responsible members of our society. They should be driven by the same laws, pay the same taxes, and adapt to the language and social structure.
