She probably is a boston terrier in full, but maybe she was bred from a boston terrier and dog that is black and white, but not exactly boston terrier. Hmm?

She *probably* is pure-bred, though it's hard to say for sure without seeing a picture of her. Some Boston terriers, especially the ones around 20 pounds, are still bred to have a longer snout. This can help to reduce the problems the "pug-nosed" Bossies have with breathing. The longer-nosed Bossies also handle heat better than the pug-nosed ones...

Did you see the parents? Or did you get her from a store or shelter? If you got her from a breeder, call them up and ask them why her nose is long...

Some breeders do this intentionally to create healthier pets... Their dogs should *still* have noses within the breed standard, but long enough to support free-breathing.

Some breeders don't know what they're doing, or simply don't care, and just "end up" with long-nosed Bostons. Sometimes their dogs have noses *far* outside of the breed standard.

As long as your Bossie is happy and healthy, and you love her just the same, there's no reason to fret about her little nose... ;) Feel free to contact me further if you would like me to take a closer look at her, but I'm willing to bet you just got your hands on one of the lines bred for longer noses...

All the best to you and your Bossie!

The Standard says the muzzle should be 'short, square, wide and deep, shorter in length than in depth... length not exceeding one third the length of the skull'. Is your pup pedigreed and did you see either or both of the parents, perhaps they have a slightly longer muzzle than you are used to seeing. Check for more info on Boston Terrier website, Woofboard.com. Either way, enjoy her - they are great little characters!

You might of had a dodgy breeder, so the parents might not have been complete Boston terriers. Or, it may be just a minor defect, caused through no fault of anybody. Contact your vet, and see what he thinks.
Good luck,
