How should I go about this? What products should I use? How can I get my head really smooth. My hair is resonably long at the moment.

Go to a barber to make sure it's done right --at least the first time. If you go to a salon they are more likely to ask you if you want to keep the hair that you're cutting off (they'll put it in a pony tail first then...snip! and you can have it as a keep-sake!).
But I do highly recommend going to get it done professionally, that way they can tell you exactly what kind of products to use according to your scalp type.

Good luck!

get a electric shaver, like the ones a barber shop uses. Cut all the hair off with the shortest gaurd that the trimmer comes with. After you get all the hair off shave it with a mach 3 razor with shaving gel, dont use cream it doesnt work as well. I found the easiest way to ensure that all of the hair is off your head when u shave with the mach 3 is by feel. Instead of using a mirror, run your hand over your head to feel for the places that have hair when u shave. I find you still miss spots with a mirror, but when i feel it with my hands and fingers i never miss anymore. i dont like the head blade, i find that a mach 3 works better.

Use a trimmer to buzz your hair and then use a Headblade razor to shave the rest off.

Go to a barber and have them do all the work. you could keep it shaved your self after that or pamper your self once a week and have a barber do it. I don't think it would cost that much. My ex use to shave his head every other day.

Buy a shaving machine, so that you don't cut your scalp with a razor. However, I don't want to see any questios tomorrow like " I shaved my hair and I hate it. How fast will they grow back?" like I've seen a few these past days!

i prefer to declare 2 million, yet truthfully, i do no longer think of i might have the means to do it. I surely have extremely long thick wavy hair and that is my signature. to no longer point out I surely have a brilliant head and around face, and that i might appear like a danged pumpkin with my head shaved.

Shave first with clippers with no guard. Then shave lotion and a good razor can do the rest.

Barber first they can usually do a decent job or you might be able to do the actual shaving by yourself.
