The vast majority of African AIDS patients NEVER know they have AIDS-- they either have no access to testing or generally refuse it even if its available due to massive social stigma for testing positive. It's not like they know they have AIDS and decide to reproduce up to the last minute
Most aid appeals involve drought/food crises, almost always in places of low HIV prevalence (Niger, Ethiopia, Sudan).

Most of the poor populations throughout the world don't have access to birth-control items such as condoms and pills.
Also, besides lack of sex education, lots of these people don't have the means to test for AIDS to even know whether they have contracted a serious, contagious disease.

because they are uneducated. did you know the men believe if they get infected with aids, they must then have sex with a virgin to cure it? they really think that. so they just spread it more an more.most of the time its rape or prostitutes , add a little uneducation and aids an what do you get? i garentee there isnt 2 educated adults over there that are monogomous getting aids

The Catholic church in Africa has been trying to stop the use of condoms for years.
Condoms would prevent AIDS, but the church has a disinformation campaign that scares people into not using them.
