eat more smaller portioned meals. Instead of eating breakfast, lunch and dinner traditionally, instead eat about 5-6 times a day, every few hours, but in small portions, this will keep your energy flow more constant throughout the day. Exercise is a full proof way to increase metabolism, to help increase metabolism and endurance safely, get your heart rate between 50 and 80% of your maximum heart rate. Your maximum heart rate can be found by subtracting your age from 220. Never exceed this heart rate, but get in between 50-80% of it, for at least a half an hour, 5 days a week. This will do wonders for your metabolism. A good exrcise that will achieve this target heart rate is a nice brisk 30 minute walk everyday. I hope this helps and good luck!

Follow up with a light 15 minute muscle toning workout.
Do this every morning without fail. Your metabolism will rise.
As time passes add an workout routine to anytime of your day.
Don't push or you'll be burning out - instead of burning up!

Exercise increases metabolism. If you do 20 minutes of moderate to vigorous aerobics, the metabolism will be faster for a few hours after you stop.

Do a ton of cardio fitness 45 minutes 4-5 days a week and eat 4-5 large meals a day that are low on fat, and high on complex carbs (fruit and veggies) and protein.

Eat more meals a day but keep them smaller. Make sure you eat a variety of proteins and carbs and fruits/veggies every time you eat. Every 3 to 4 hrs is best. This is very safe and healthy

Alternate low calorie and high calorie days. For instance, if you are 5'5" and 140 lbs, eat 1,000 cals. on Monday, Weds., and Friday and 2,000 on Tues., Thurs., and Sat., and Sun. It will keep your metabolism form becoming efficient (which is the way to increase it).
