Basically there is a reason for your husband or bf to do such thing so ask him for the reason. If the reason sound reasonable enough, then you can consider it. However if you really love your job, then better tell him the truth before it become a problem between both of you. If he is a reasonable guy he will respect your final decision. So you actually decides for yourself and not your husband or bf.

Of course first, ask why.
If he gives you a reasonable enough answer, then why not? I'd quit if he asks me too. Of course he then needs to take care of me and provide for me. If not then there's no reason why you should listen to him and quit your job.
So just make sure that he's prepared to have you as part of his burden.

if he loves me. he will not ask me to quit. he knows that i like my job even though at times i will complain to him that i want to quit.

have a mind of your own, if u think it's right to quit, then do so, if not, u should just stick to your job.
