I am stumped. I am very cash poor but my parent’s 36th anniversary in coming up in 6 days. I want to do something special for them that will really WOW them. Flowers and candy would be just for my mom and I want to do something they will both enjoy. Also they are watching their weight so candy would go over like a lead balloon. I know they will love anything I do for them but I want to do something special that they will never forget. Anyone have any thoughts on the subject?

a picnic at a local park will be nice. pack a small picnic basket. fill it with a red/white checkered blanket-$0.99-$3.99, sparking cider-$2.50-$4.00 a bottle, make some sandwiches, throw in two-three bottles of water, and fruits and send them off. it'll be really nice and relaxing and it won't cost you more than $20.

Fix them a special dinner of their favorite foods. Have the family over and any friends they might have locally. If there are small children, have them draw a picture or write a note to the grandparents. Thoughtful things like that mean the world to parents.

Why not frame a photo of them? I took a photo on my parents anniversary and then gave it to them. They sent copies out to everyone and their brother. Or make them a nice dinner. It's the thought, not the expense.
