oh, that really sucks!
if it's been for 8 days already you should see a doctor. I had a summer cold for a week and started to get green stuff coming out of my lungs, i think it was postnasal drip from a sinus infection. went to the dr. and she gave me some antibiotic called amoxicillin, but that didn't work and I went on suffering for a week more, went back and she gave me some Levaquin which cleared it right up.

besides that, chicken soup is good (put some garlic in it -- garlic is a natural antibiotic -- and some hot pepper flakes.)

There is a natural herbal tea called "cold season" that's really good, it has stuff like licorice, ginger, mint, etc. I drink several cups a day when I'm sick.. it tastes strong (like ginger), it burns going down and makes you sweat but you feel better afterwards.. go figure.

and go to sleep! it's late in texas...

If you're having a hard time going to sleep at night, becaue your nose is all stuffed up, you can try Sudafed (just the regular one) decongestant. my doctor gave me some steroid nose spray too. for unclearing noses try the soup method, or put your nose over a steaming cup of mint tea for a few minutes, or there is always that mentholated stuff you spread over yourself

I know it must be strange to have a cold in the summer, but a cold is not something caught by being cold, or going into the cold wet, like our parents told us. A cold is a virus and is caught by germs. The most common place a cold is caught is by touching door handles with the virus on them, then maybe touching yourself near your face or something.

Treat the cold in the summer the same as you would treat the cold in winter, but remember, whatever you take will not get rid of the cold, only ease the symptoms for a few hours.

Stay in bed for the day and pamper yourself. That is always a good remedy!

It seems to be going around. Drink lots of fluids and take some theraflu. It'll pass. The summer ones seem to be the nastiest.
