Xanax........does grapefruit juice make it not work or work more?

Does grapefruit/grapefruit juice make Xanax work better? I thought if it did I could take less of the xanax. Thanks in advance for your answers

It prevents the xanax from working properly. It interferes with the absorption and metabolism by blocking the action of specific enzymes needed to absorb and break down the drug. Why it does this is unknown.

So, do not consume grapefruit juice when taking xanax.
