If they reject God's saving grace they will go. Not because of the fact that they denied him but rather they were already headed there in the first place and wouldn't accept God's help. That's why there is such a call for evangelism.
Imagine how catastrophic it would be for someone to live their whole life saying there is no God, belittling people of faith and when they die coming face to face with the truth. I think that they'll see every opportunity that they had to come to know the truth and feeling sorry couldn't even describe the gut wrentching regret they would feel for not heeding God's warning and accepting a free gift of grace.
If I'm wrong and it's lights out, then no big deal, we die and that's it. But if what I beleive is true what do I have to lose whether it's for real or not. I personally know through events of my life that there is an afterlife and Heaven awaits those who choose to have faith but if I'm wrong so what. I'd be heart broken to say I told you so after the fact.

tekno,
People don't go to Hell for being bad. According to the Bible, we are all bad. We either accept Jesus as Lord, or we don't.
Thus, a Christian is just a saved bad person. Now the Spirit of God enters into the believer and changes him or her, but that does not make it so that they can do no wrong.
Don't feel bad if you have trouble with this concept, but many Christians have difficulty with the concept also.
Being sorry? That means that you really don't want to do what you are sorry about anymore. It doesn't mean you won't do it again, it just means at the time you really are sorry about it.

It has been said: there are no athiests in hell. Not to mean athiests don't go to hell.
I think people go to hell. If you are to discuss which ones of us are good and bad, each and every one of us is guilty. Unrepentant people go to hell. Why? Because they have too much pride to ask for forgiveness. As it says: "the only sin that will not be forgiven is blasphemy of the holy spirit". If you refuse to let the spirit come to you and make you complete then you will go to hell. For all eternity. All you have to do is believe and make an effort. God will do the rest. Is that evil? People who go to hell, choose to go to hell. It is free will. I often feel foolish for believing in God. Sometimes even in the middle of my prayers. However, for all the times I've been touched by the Holy Spirit. For all the mystical things I've experienced. And yes, for all the hell that I've seen and experienced, I know it to be true.
I was a drug addict for many years. I came very close to death. I was on a similar drug to heroin. I saw many things, and it was a long hard road out of hell. The only reason I'm living is because of Jesus Christ. People will say that's a b.s. reason. I know I would be dead. They said I was crazy. They put me in the hospital for a short time. There is a hell. There is a heaven. There is a God.

To the extent that I understand things, people who are bad and who are unforgiven would go to hell.
I don't know that much about hell. I know I would rather not have to spend eternity there. However, a basic Christian belief allows anyone to be forgiven his or her sins. That would suggest a repentent bad person could go to heaven.
I would think anyone who goes to hell would be sorry they went there. I don't know if they'd be sorry they'd earned the trip.

Hell is a mistranslation of 2 Hebrew words Sheol and Gehenna and two Greek words Hades and Tartarus. It is a foolish belief held by those who have neither the ability to learn or distinguish truth from lie. God asked us to forgive others and be merciful, Should we expect any less from him?

No, bad people go to Heaven....what the heck, of course they go to Hell. Now get out there and start converting them to Christianity so that they may be saved.

Hell doesn't happen until the end of the world. Then people will get their rewards--at the resurrection.
It isn't about being "bad' (or good). It's about accepting the sacrifice of Jesus Christ as your Savior from sin. When you realize how much Jesus gave up to die for your sins, and when you realize how much you are loved by Jesus Christ, you can't help but love Him back. When you love God/Jesus/Holy Spirit (The God-Family) then you respond to that love with an attempt to please God. When we want to please God because we love Him, the first thing we start to do is respect all His other children. When we respect all His other children--which includes everyone in the world--we start acting in a different way toward them. That is generally referred to as 'being good.' We don't 'be good' to go to Heaven. We go to Heaven because we loved God and accepted Jesus' sacrifice for us. We 'be good' out of gratitude and love.

NO. If you read the Bible, It plainly says that "all our righteousness are as filthy rags" . And in another passage it says
"ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God"
and in another passage it states" There is NONE righteous, no not ONE.
The only people who are going to go to hell are the people who reject Jesus.
