I believe, though I may be wrong, that there's an upper age limit on receiving Pell Grants. It may just be that you are above that limit.
As far as errors in the FAFSA itself go, you should be able to call FAFSA offices and make corrections to the current application. The number is -800-4-FED-AID.

check out this site
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
I had problems with the school I was attending as well....it isn't difficult to fill out everything yourself online....your school will automatically be notified whether or not you qualified. you can also go here to check for errors on your current application...and it used to only take a day or two for the "errors" to be fixed in the fafsa system.
You are not too old...unless they changed the rules within the last year....my best friend is in her 30's, and several other people I know from class are in their 40's and still got pell grants. The money thing might keep you from getting a full grant, but I don't think you make too much money...especially if you have kids....my b-f's husband makes somewhere around 50k per year and they have 3 kids....she still got a partial grant....
don't leave it up to the school...most of the time you will would be better off handling it on your own.

You do make too much money to qualify for a Pell Grant. You have to be dirt poor to get any free money from the government. As far as I understand it, your credit will be checked before they approve you for a loan. Get a co-signer because that will definitely help.

You make too much money to qualify for a Pell Grant. Basically you have to be indigent to get any aid money form the government.
You should check into scholarships for single mothers. Do a search on fastweb.com.

I do not have specifics, but I would ask your financial aid office at your school to help. Set an appointment and try to find a counselor who is knowledgeable and willing to work for you.
Also, here's a site I just found:
http://www.finaid.org/
Maybe that will help.
I wish I could do more. I had to finance my education, too. It was a lot of aggravation and paperwork, but it can be done.
Good luck.
