I don't know why someone hasn't invented a strainer in big machines so the popcorn can sift through it. If they have it's not very effective, it needs to shake the hell out of it so the unpopped corn can drop out I buy popcorn in little packets as its a helathy alternative to chips but the same thing with that too

get better popcorn. it does not do it. could be your microwave also.

I work at a movie theater, and the slightest trauma can break down the popcorn, so a sifter would do more damage than good.
The poppers themselves, along with the warmers, have holes in the bottom just big enough for the kernals to pass through. This is the most effective method, because it causes no trauma, and the kernals being of concentrated weight fall more easily to the bottom and into the holes.
Of course, as you can see in the bottom of the bag, it isn't perfect. With the mass amounts of popcorn we make daily, using a microwave would be slow and inefficient. A popper simply cannot pop every kernal, because the heat isn't distributed well enough.

Hmmm...Maybe you should invent something like that! Perhaps you could make a bag that has a small plastic liner with corugated holes in it to allow the kernels to pass but not the popcorn. The bag could have about 1/2 inch of dead space at the bottom to capture them and then when you are done with the bag it can be disposed no problem. It would allow husks and small bits of popcorn and unused salt to fall through making the treat healthier and tastier too! It could make you millions!

Buy a bigger container of popcorn, and you will never get to the bottom, and then, you won't be bothered by the stuff that didn't pop.

Yes! I become rage-filled. My step-brother was so upset about unpopped popcorn colonels, that he took 3 dozen hydrocodone....it was terrible.

We make popcorn every night and we finally found a brand that all of it pops.... it's walmarts brand, believe it or not, and also we keep it in the refrigerator and it helps it to pop.... I don;t know why but it does work.....
