The best way I can describe hearing from God is that it's very much like having a thought, but I know the origination of the thought did not come from me. Sometimes it's hard for me to differentiate between my own thoughts and hearing from God...but if I test "what I hear" against what His word says...if it's absolutely in line with that, then I am more comfortable thinking it's God speaking. The more I am in His word, and prayer, the more I come to know His "voice" and can recognize it.

God can speak to you in many ways. You may hear him like a person or it may be a voice in your head. He may even speak through another person. Just listen for an answer for you prayer and then you will know. Deep in your heart you will know if its him or not!

God is within you. Just empty your mind and pray to him. You don't even need words to pray. God knows what you are feeling. If you lie there long enough in silence and quiet and really reach out and open your soul to Him, you will "hear" Him. It may not be in words. God has never spoken to me in words. He has just answered my prayers. Even when I dared not say the words aloud for fear He may not answer. He just knew and he did answer. He even healed me of my high blood pressure. Here I was praying for my son and not only has he carried my son through chemotherapy without any side effects to speak of, and I find out in a few weeks if he has been cured, but He even cured me...and I had begged everyone to pray for my son and not me...I wanted every prayer focused on Him and in fact prayed that God put that evil on me rather than him. However, I was surprised when I woke up one day and took my blood pressure over and over and even went to the drugstore which just confirmed that both readings had dropped to normal and have stayed that way for months now. Now if that isn't a miracle I don't know what is.
Someone said on another post that if you don't find God within you, that you won't find him without. I really believe that. Once you know He is with you, you will recognize His presence everywhere else around you and see Him working through others too. That is the only way I can explain it.
I am leery of people who have all the answers, because I don't believe anyone can have all the answers and in fact the more you learn, the more it just raises other questions. I believe you just have to rely on faith, and trust in that faith.

God will not talk to you or to other human in the world. You may not have any chances to listen his voice. What ever you heard or dream are just a voice or imagination from His creature like genie, devil or the angel.

A voice of reason and positive guidance. It may be through another person or an inspiration within you. God speaks gently and subtly to common people like us.

It's different for everyone, some people actually hear a voice in their head, and others get a kind of "gut feeling".

God can talk to people in many ways. For some, it is through feeling or words they recieve through prayer. In others, it is through other people. Still others can find their answer in nature. When God is giving you an answer you will know it to be true.

he speaks to me through me conscience. when we doubt the nature of our actions, words, etc. (as to whether it is moral, etc.), that's him telling us to think things through and do what's right. other people can be his messengers too, and as someone mentioned, you'll know in your heart. even when things get foggy, remember the things that make him constant and true. refer to the bible when in doubt.
plus when you take in a deep breath of air as you take a walk along the park, the sea shore, or other such natural places, i get a sense of god telling me "it's all good. everything has a purpose, place, meaning...." and he's got it all under control.
