I agree.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
3. Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control was against the will of God.

If the world is going to ignore teachings about chastity (1 & 2), then why is the world so upset about teaching artificial birth control (3)?

People who are already ignoring the more important teachings about chastity (1 and 2) should have no problem ignoring the less important teaching of artificial birth control (3).

Even if an infected person was to use a condom to help protect his or her spouse, condoms are not 100% effective (read the box) and the spouse may be infected and die anyway. A person who truly loves their spouse would not endanger them in this way.

With love in Christ.

The Roman Catholic Church teaches that sex is something that is only to be shared between a man and a woman who are married and must be left open to procreation. Therefore, sex outside of marriage is a sin, contraception is a sin, etc.

Obviously not everyone believes this, for the simple reason (if nothing else) that not everyone in the world is Catholic. I think some people see this as the Vatican pushing Catholic beliefs down the world's throat. I wouldn't like someone of another faith trying to force me into their beliefs either.

My opinion is that contrary to that opinion, the Church is professing that sex is something sacred that should be shared within a certain context. As much as I disagree with the Church on the issue of contraception, they do have a point - if people didn't share a variety of sexual partners, the spread of AIDS would slow down quite a bit.

the Catholic Church is against contraception except for trying to not have sex on days of ovulation. Therefore they are against condom use. Condoms are needed in Africa to help prevent the spread of AIDS. Yes having sex outside marriage is a sin. Knowingly spreading AIDS is also sin.

The church is against any form of birth control, claiming that only god can say when you should have children. The facts of that statement are similar to the taboo of pre/extra marital sex. It's population control. If the church can control the population, then it stays in power.

Belief in god is archaic at best. AIDS is passed in many more ways than sexual contact, but that's the most highly publicized one. The church can claim that god is striking down a heathen nation because of the epidemic it faces. The fact is, on a secular level, these people need to be educated not only in condom use, but also in the other ways to prevent the spread of the disease. Help them to help themselves.

because of the fact for all their blather approximately being super-sensible 7 knowledgeable, they simply watch television. they don't comprehend that Africa is a distinctive place from South u . s . of america, which extremely is predominately Catholic ( and which does no longer have something like the AIDS concern Africa has. maximum Africans are pagans or Muslims and that i do no longer think of they pay different interest to the Pope. Atheists do no longer look to have plenty for that "good judgment" they save occurring approximately it. It stupid in charge Catholics for a deadly disease in a non-Catholic area or continent.

The rule is that people need to be married before sex, for the people in Africa it is a health concern since so many suffer from Aids there.

well, not every one in Africa is a Catholic, but alot of them are at risk for AIDS. Therefore, to most people dying a painful death is worse than breaking catholic doctrine.
