Does your school ID have your photo on it? If so, it should be fine. They just want to make sure that you're really you.

If it doesn't have a photo, you'll need to check with the airport to find out what else might be acceptable.

Yes, you have two important documents that WILL work as ID. Any passenger who can not show proof government issued ID must provide two forms of non-photo government issued ID. Your birth certificate and SS Card will suffice. As long as the birth certificate is an original with the raised seal, you are fine. Dont lie and say you are 17, just carry those documents with you and no questions will be asked. No matter how long the flight is, as long as you are 18 and over, you must provide proof of ID. School ID's are not valid and will not be accepted.

I worked for Delta and this is common practice on ALL airlines. People have driver's liscense's that expire that they do not have updated, they lose their ID's, purses and wallets get stolen and this is the alternate way to verify your identity. So YES YES YES you can still check in with what documentation you have. However you will be a selectee, meaning a full search, so arrive at the airport with more than enough time to get through security and you will be fine. Most airports have a 30 min cut off on check in while the larger airports have a 45 min cut off. Sometimes even with those cut offs and with this being the end of summer travel season, you need to arrive early. Just be prepared to be a full search and have your belongings prepared. Dont pack things of importance that could signal a restricted item in deep pockets, that way when they search your bags they wont be digging.

So, calm down...relax and yes you have what you need.

NO ID NO SEAT! You are 18, you are an adult, regardless you should have an ID they wont issue you a boarding pass, or let you get through the security checkpoint without one. i WOULDNT advise you to LIE AND SAY YOU ARE 17, unless you want fines from the FAA, no joke, Ive seen it done. So dont listen to tweedle dee down there. Get an ID. You school will not work.

Nope, it won't because of your age. However, take those to your local Dept of Transportation/Division of Motor Vehicles office and you can get a state ID for about $25. You MUST have all those documents you listed WITH YOU when you get it. You don't need an appointment.
