I had decided to go get a soda from the machine at von's around midnight. I took my bicycle. On my way back I noticed a police car silently pass me, something in myself said "hm.. I hope not". I stopped for a light, one block from home, when the same car appears behind me. I tense up & see and hear an obvious lesbian dyke-y cop in the passenger side say "are you ok ma'am?". Nothing was going wrong. I say "no, no crimes here".She proceeds to get out of car, ask me get off bike, frisks me, touches my breasts as well, ask me if Im "on drugs", argues that I have an attitude, ask me if I "graduated from high school" and "are you stupid!?". All kinds of insulting, demeaning things. Now they switch their story and say I don't have my bike lite on. I am totally STUNNED, as a carload of gangbangers slow down to watch and the real crime gets away!!! I keep saying "what did I do?". The male cop bellows "we don't like your attitude!!" What can I do. This is harrassment & I was traumatized :(

Reading yer rant, I wonder if maybe you do have an attitude problem. But nevertheless what you describe would be way over the top even if you did. (Besides, I can't quite remember "Bad Attitude" is that a misdemeanor of a felony?)

You need to file a complaint and put on the record. Nothing tones down a bad cop like knowing the next time someone complains there is already a file, even if nothing happens this time. Sometimes the entire event is actually recorded by the police themselves and you can actually use their own recording for your complaint!

My mom went through something like that at a hospital and we field a law suit. Get a lawyer and tell him/her that you want to file a lawsuit against the cop and then against the department that the cop worked at. If she was on deauty at the time then they will also be responsible. When my mom filed suit she sued both the doctor and the hospital. We won $200,000 from the hospital alone. Not only will the cop go to jail or get fierd you also make her pay, litteraly.

Get an attorney file a complaint it will go on the cops record &
it will help the next guy. If you can't afford an attorney go to the NAACP they will help anyone with a true case of Bias

You can get a lawyer. Hopefully, you also have the name and badge number of the offending officers. (just using a description of "obvious lesbian dyke-y cop" isn't going to look good in court)
