Why do some christians on here lash out at people with different beliefs? It makes me embarassed to have the same title. I have been on here ten minutes and Ive seen people mocked, refered to as "ignorant", told they were going to hell. Do you think that is a christian attitude? If so you were terribly misinformed and Im ashamed. We wonder why so many people are hateful towards us.

Im not saying all of us are like that btw. But it helps me understand how people can think of us as forceful and self righteous

I know exactally what you mean. I ask questions on here, and can't believe some of the responses. I love God. I try to live a life by his inspired words, and to have someone tell me I'm going to hell just because i question things, or don't share their belief is not Christian. Give me scriptures to back up their belief, or give me at least a kind reply. Asking questions is the beginning of knowledge. I try to ignore most comments, but some I do have to reply to.

Fear is the main reason why people lash out at others with opposing views. They fear that they themselves may be wrong but are unwilling to accept a different answer because - what if they are right - then that would be going against the Christian God and they would burn in Hell. This fear drives them to do the bad things they do (all in the name of God by the way) and so they instinctively hate anyone who doesn't believe the same as they do. It is rather sad to see considering the Christian teachings say to love one another, not to kill or abuse others in any way for not agreeing with the Christian God. It is sad that so many people feel the need to hide their true beliefs for fear of what the Christians might do to them.

I'll give you the same answer I gave a while ago to a similar question

Understand that people usually attack what they don't understand or what they are afraid of.

I think most of the users on this site know that the "trash" being put out here is not coming from Christians. When I see something totally negative I just pass over it and look for the good. Afterall isn't that what we should be doing in all areas of our life.

I do understand how you feel. I have seen many a post in which after I have written something, you will get somebody else, throwing in their two cents, and that will drive people away. We do not want to cram our beliefs down anybody's throat, we just want to tell the truth of God's Love, offer the plan of salvation, and from there it is in the other person's hands, but you must do it with love. Now in another vien, there are people who do not believe the gospel and yes they want you to fight, argue, and name call, so when you get hot under the collar and explode, they can say "you are not so much of a Christian". The "world" knows how a believer is supposed to conduct themself, and they will try you as much as possible to try and shake your faith, and that is all they are doing?? It is a trick of the devil, so don't let him fool you!!

If you expect people to be perfect then you are highly misinformed and not every one is a believer on here. There re some unbelievers on here that are disguised as Christians for example someone is impersonating "Whynotaskdon" because his profile has less points. I have definitely reported them and other instances like this. Pray for everyone that seems uptight.

Becoming a Christian doesn't mean that you are to stand by and allow others to sin in front of you. Jesus Christ gives us a commission when we accept Him. He tells us to spread the Word around the world. To chastise those who blatantly sin in ignorance. We are to do this with love and caring for those that don't know the truth.
Faith is a verb and requires an action. If you allow someone to sin and do nothing about it, you share in that same sin.
Study the Word and gain understanding from God. Then, serve Him through His Beloved Son Jesus Christ.
Christians are not perfect, just forgiven.><>

I have been guilty of getting mad and lashing out. You are right it isn't a christian attitude. I have apologized to those I was hateful to and gotten a positive response. I come here to try and help and be helped. I am working on trying to keep my temper in check and showing a christian attitude. We must set a good example.

Don't worry hon I'm an atheist and there are plenty bad apples of that persuasion on here as well. Chatroom-type-places provide anonymity and this particular category creates tension, so it's no wonder half the people in here are brainless or just downright mean. Don't think that Christians are the only one!

Well done, a very genuine question and observation. Religion I'm sad to say is evil as far as I'm concerned, and there is overwhelming evidence to support such a claim.

Religion is really just evil in disguise. Religion is responsible for the majority of wars, conflict and murder of innocent life since humanity began. There is considerable evidence to classify religion as evil, and talk of religion (Gods etc) should be banned. Because the records prove over and over again throughout humanity that religion is clearly responsible for crimes against humanity, taking part in any religious activity should also be outlawed and made a criminal offence.

The world would be a much happier and peaceful place if religion ceased to exist. Although there are some decent religious believers and preachers, they are unwittingly spreading evil around our world, and that they should simply keep their beliefs and thoughts to themselves in the best interests of humanity, or suffer the consequences for their actions.

People should consider that the world would be like Heaven if religion ceased to exist, but all the believers and preachers have turned the planet into Hell.

All religious preachers just pump their one theory (God exists) down our throats. When the science community makes a discovery or modifies a theory they publish a paper for all to view, speculate on, and debate. Invariably such discoveries open up our simplistic minds and expand our horizons. Examples would be the works of Einstein and Hawking, to name a very small sample.

So why do preachers have to continually pump their one theory (God exists) down our throats. Why do they stand on street corners and hand out leaflets, yell at passers by, gather huge crowds and push unsuspecting victims over in the belief they will be cured of whatever mental or physical ailment invades them, if they just believe in the theory of God.

Why can’t the believers of religious theory just behave in a decent manner, in much the same way as the scientific community does. The answer to all of these questions is simple. They know their theory of God is wrong, and saturation mental and verbal bombardment is the only way they can convince people, and they do it directly or indirectly for money.

Religious believers are not really recognised as being intelligent. My studies and research shows that religious people are not exactly rocket scientists, they tend to be below average intelligence, and also have a tendency to be more violent than non-believers. In some cases, the more violent the person, the more religious they are. I suspect that the vast majority of religious people are well below average intelligence.

I wonder if trying to improve the intellectual standard of our global community would help remove the various religions from our culture, and thereby improve happiness and peace for humanity.

It’s a statistical fact that the higher your education, income, and intelligence, the more likely you are not to believe in a god. For every college student that converts to a religious belief system, 17 college students convert to atheist beliefs.

Atheists have an average intelligence of 25 IQ points above their Christian counterparts. It’s no wonder why the USA (75% Christian) is so arrogant, aggressive or violent towards others in this world.

80% of the world’s population is religious.
80% of the world’s violence and wars are caused by religion.
80% of religious people are of below average intelligence.

There are numerous examples of the above, but such statistics are ignored or more importantly, deliberately concealed by religious groups.

The above represents a very small sample of why many religious people are so full of hatred and anger towards others. However, it's been that way for as long as religion has been invented.
