As a woman I believe in modesty. I don't want someone looking at my body. I want to be apprecitaed for my mental skills not the ones I have in bed. I don't want people to judge me by my bra size or how thin my waist is. If you show it off to everyone it's no longer prescious. I don't neccesarilly feel that all women should wear hijabs but I don't think women should continue to objectified by plunging necklines and rising hems. We should feel threatened by the continual need to play into the media's ideal woman. I don't want my daughter to grow up thinking she's not thin enough doesn't have big enough boobs, has to show more to get attention from boys. I also think when women do show that off that they are making themselves more suceptable to rape and sexual harassment. It harms society just as much as the individual to show it all off. Look at america were obsessed with sex and beauty. We should be trying to help others and teach our children but were to busy getting boob jobs and high priced thongs to care whether someone's starving a couple thousand miles away or even 10 miles away. I also wouldn't want my husband looking at another woman. It would make me feel bad and insecure thus hurting our partnership. So I don't hate women who don't wear hijab but I wish they wouldn't allow themselves to be objectified and I disslike men who that's all they can think about.

I still haven't figured out why women can't show their nipples in public.
But I did find references from back in the early 20th century regarding beach attire ... men in New York risked arrest by going to the beaches wearing only swimming trunks.
What makes this odd is ... less than 100 years prior "skinny dipping" was the norm. Swimsuit material wasn't invented until the mid-late 19th century and swimming with regular clothes (soak up a lot of water) was dangerous.
There's also evidence to show male circumcision in the U.S. is a hold-over from the "treatments" to prevent masturbation. And while we are disgusted at the practice of female circumcision (removal of the clitoris) in Africa and the Middle East ... it was practiced for this purpose (prevent masturbation) as well in the U.S. prior to WWII.
We, as a society, still have a lot of sexual demons to exorcise.
SweetBabyJane : I'll let you know when I get tired of looking at them =)

Hate is just fear and ignorance. There is nothing you can do with someone as set in their ways as that. They will never change their ways. They are as committed to their beliefs as any steadfast Christian, Jew, Buddhist, etc. is who believes as committedly to their religion.
As for women and nudity, I think it's shameful to think that way because it creates lust and desires, and there are just too many sick minds out there who abuse women and children and statistics prove that porn drives those uncontrollable urges for such sick minds. It drives men to cheat and destroys lives and families, which is exactly what is wrong with the world today.
If men weren't such weak creatures they would be satisfied with one woman and there would be no need for greed or to oggle so many nude bodies. For Christ sake how many Ts and As can you look at before you're bored silly with it all? Sheesh.
I'm just happy I wasn't born a man because my life would have been such a waste if that is all I had to think about....no offense.

Walk slowly backward, never taking your eyes off the ranter, then as soon as you get a reasonable distance away, laugh and put your hijab back on. Some men just can't take a joke.

Many religious people are unable to control themselves, which is why they seek a religion with a punishing god: to keep them in line. On top of that, they think that sexual thoughts are sins, even if they don't act on them.
What do you do with that "hijab" mentality? Walk away.

Pill of Truth,
I agree with you that the female body can be very nice to look at, but you seem obsessive.
And you call religious people weirdos.

It's a societal moral.
It's funny to think about though, in genesis, as soon as they ate the fruit, Adam and Eve wanted to be dressed, because they knew "right from wrong".

hey smart pants,
what would you feel if this woman was your wife, or mother ?
would you love to see other men stare at her naked body ,and enjoy themselves with whatever they may think they could do with her.
and for young men who are not married ,and want to stay pure until they do , is it OK that women show them their bodies to make them h**** without a chance to vent this kind of pressure?
you're free to have a viewpoint ,but don't just try to justify having a wrong one.

The chrisitians seem to hate sex, and love war. War is an obscenity. Sex is just a normal, natural part of life.
