Having hard ons are involuntary phenomenon. It can be triggered by thoughts and sense or for no reason at all such as a stiff dick in the morning. However, ones you are on it, it does not take much time to normalize. After all your circulatory system cannot sustain blood supply to your penis forever.

its mainly to do with age. normally guys under the age of 25 or there abouts cant really control it. they think bout something that turns them on and they get a hard on. when your older you can think bout stuff like this and control not getting one. same goes with stamina in the bedroom. with age come knowledge and with knowledge comes control

No, not true, most of the time if we become aroused we have no control over it. What little control I do have takes much concentration on NOT being aroused, but that doesn't always work either.

its an autonomic response. meaning that it isnt directly controllable. and it also depends on age in between 13~16 it seems that you walk around with one. but if you let your mind wander to much it may happen and once it starts it takes a sec for you to calm down. kinda embarassing.

yes we can control it but we would prefer not to think about ugly women who we have no sexual attraction to all day. How would you like to think about your brother all day? Or more accurately it would be like a woman trying to keep her nipples from getting hard.

I really don't think they can.....men are very visual and that part of their body responds whether they want it to or not. They even wake up that way, so something they live with.
