I don't think they are ignorant.Some where along the line they started to not like cops.Some got tickets others were locked up(or family was).But unfortunately some times coppers themselves are their own worst nightmare.Some coppers get this better than thou attitude.And for the most part they can get away w/ it .Because they can!This puts the whole job under scrutiny.You have heard the phrase ...one bad apple... this phrase is worse for cops.Everyone loves to f w/ the cops. But the answers posted sometimes have a lot of f the police but a lot of people do not like the police,sad but true.I don't see a lot of people that are more criminally inclined.i see a lot of people that are not exposed to the things that copper do good/right. The only exposure to police is when they get "harassed" by the PO PO.The job thankfully is not a popularity contest,but the success of any pd is directly related to the relationship it has w/ the community.(the better the relationship the pd has w/ the community the better job they can do).I've been on the job for 14 yrs,I have accepted the fact that some people will always hate the police.I try and treat everyone w/ respect until they disrespect me,then sorry but game on. Also, envy is a terrible thing.

I'm not sure about most, but I do think there is a hefty percentage that are.
What really confuses me are the people who just lurk around the "Law Enforcement & Police" section just looking for any chance to bash law enforcement. You know the ones, who never answer a question with any real information, just insults towards law enforcement. Why would someone seek out something as specific as this section with the sole purpose of saying negative things? Why not let those people who have a valid question or want some advice to get that advice from the people they were really asking? Why make them sort through all the negative, hateful, meaningless garbage from people who aren't really trying to help? Why not just let the people who have the information the asker wants and are willing to give it to them do so without sprinkling mindless crap all over them?
Thanks for the chance for a little venting. I was really thinking about asking a similar question myself. Now I won't have to use those points!

To: TheEnlightened: I'm not a cop. But I am personally very offended by your constant references to killing cops. Killing ANYONE for that matter.
It's obvious that you have had a lot of run-ins with the law. If you continue with this attitude, I hope you get locked up for good next time.

I would feel worse about killing an ant. Please I would love to meet and officer off duty. Im sure you big bad pigs wouldnt do crap but crap you own pants. Damn pusses.
The reason people hate cops is that they arent good people. you have to predisposed to being a power tripping, bacon eating, grease bleeding piece of crap to be one. If it was up to me I would love to take a huge crap on a cops head, then have sex with their wife. Unless its a dike cop. then I would just like to seem the die.

I think you're absolutely right. Some are sincere people looking for answers, the rest are here just to look for pity or to vent their anger. In other words...blame the law or the police for their own behavior. It's sad, isn't it?
