If you want him to learn, go over to his place a few days and continue to empty out his fridge. When he confronts you, and he will, just tell him that you're just doing what he does to you when he comes over. He'll either reimburse you for your groceries or stop eating your food.

You need to sit down with him and discuss this with him and if he still doesn't prove to be reasonable,give him a taste of his own selfish medicine and buy food only for yourself and tell him if he wants to eat ,he will have to buy his own food for now on.
