Please HELP!!! I am a cake decorator, so I take pictures of each cake I do to put in my portfolio. How can I edit my cake pictures so that there is no background or so that the background it completely white. The only photo editing program I have is Photo Impact 8. Will this help me?

Photo Impact will work for this, though it's been a while since I used it.

A tedius way to do this would be to select the brush tool with a white color selection. Using a soft edge brush (one that fades out) brush around your subject to create the white background.

Also, as the first person suggested, you can create a selection around the subject, select it's inverse, and then fill the new selection with white. However, I'm unsure as to how Photo Impact handles selections or marquee tools.

I don't know Photo Impact, but I'd select the cake ... then just cut and paste it into a new white background.
