To a certain degree . It helps relax you , but you can't drink too much . That is when you lose discipline and concentration . Remember the snooker players who were caught taking " Beta Blockers " . It slowed their heart beat , just like a small amount of drink .

Many people have the illusion that drinking will help improve their game. In the short term, a person who isn't confident in their abilities and has no real long-term plan for improving their game will often see an increase in performance with a few drinks. Much in the same way that some benefit from "liquid courage", alcohol will tend to lower anxiety and inhibitions. However, very quickly, coordination, vision, and critical judgement go out the window. When a player is confident in their skill and knowledge of pool, alcohol becomes just another distraction, something good players learn to block out. Look at the professionals, for instance. Could anyone honestly believe that any of these players drink during competition? M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee

Look instead of thinking if it helps while playing pool lets think about what drinking does.

It helps you not care about anything around you, think twice about what your doing, and just do it. Sometimes doing it helps you win.. But in the end it never pays off. So no don't drink while playing pool its stupid and a bad habbit, so is drinking.

Win while sober and you will never loose, good luck to you.

Just because the pool table is in the bar does not mean you gotta drink.

Yes. It helps the other guy, if you're drinking. It helps you if he's drinking. If someone is drinking, it is always going to be helpful.

Indeed it does, if you start off playing and drinking.
If however you drink (alot) and then decide to play, your *** is grass. (Well mine is anyway)
