No I wouldn't. If I had have known my son would get cancer, or my grandmother die or any other bad thing that was to happen my whole life would have unfolded differently.

You can't live your life for tomorrow. All you have is today. By focusing on tomorrow, you rob yourself of all that you really have which is today. Tomorrow you could be dead. Would you really want to know? Just worry about today and be grateful that God has given you another day on this great planet.

Imagine, for a moment, that you have a really great job, but one time you royal screw up. You know you screwed up. Every one knows you screwed up. The boss knows you screwed up. Every time the phone rings your anxiety level jumps because this could be the call, and he will call, make no mistake about that, to 'request' your presence in his office, You know you have no choice but to go down and listen to him vent on you for 15 minutes. Now, imagine living your whole life like that.
It would be Hell on Earth.
Also, knowing the future would imply that it is already predetermined, what we will do is unchangeable, that we are predestined to act as we do, that free will is an illusion, that there is no point in trying to do any good because if it was meant to be it will happen.
People would stop caring because, after all, what is the point?
The point is that you can change what happens around you. You can make a difference, even a small one.
You may be only one person in the world, but you can be the world to one person.

I know my ultimate future and that is sufficient for me - to know the from now to their - no, I wouldn't want to know - the Lord tells us the worries of today are sufficient enough - and I believe that - I don't need to already be trying to prepare for, get around, or overcome something I know that is down the road. The Lord will give me what I need at the time I need it. That's good enough for today and if tomorrow is mine, then it will be good enough for tomorrow. Since I'm Obessessive Compulsive - to know beyond the next few seconds would drive me insane! I'd have to organize it, make copies- in triplicate, and try to get everything in place months or years before time - so, I'm much better off not knowing!

I am 54, and a young 54 at that, or so I am told, but I can assure you that the older I get, the less I want to know about the future. I am an RN and my older patients used to tell me when I was "younger"....getting old isn't for sissies....or wimps....and they were correct! Ex: When I was younger and had all of my babies at home....that is what I call my four daughters...who are now 31, 27, 26 and 14.....I thought they would always be close...it kills me now that I know the oldest doesn't call her sisters hardly...she has lost the pulse of her sister's lives....that is one example...I wouldn't have wanted to know that because first of all we can't change didly...when it comes to others. Nah....would I want to know I was going to get cancer, or my lifelong friend passes away...heck no....when it happens, it happens, then you deal and deal and deal...that is what life is all about....dealing.

No, because I believe that the future is unceirtain. I don't believe everything is preordained. I believe everyday we have the power to change our future and our destiny, and if you could see the future, you wouldn't be able to see past a choice, because people might change and choose the other. Thus causing a paradox.

if you see the future, then change it, was it ever really the future?

I would not wish to see the future. It would make living a very intolerable thing. Knowing what my masterpeices will look like when everything is finished before the outcome would destroy my mind.

Hails,
Silence

Nope. Some things are better left unknown. If I knew, like say for instance, that I was going to die soon I would do nothing but dread it and worry. What kind of life would that be? It's best not to know.

no, whats the point of living if you know whats going to happen,
life, for me, is all about surprises, adrenaline rush, change,
you don't have that if you know the future

its like watching a baskteball game if you know the end score... someone may makea good play near the end of the game but its not as exciting if you know it won't win it for them.....

and have you ever looked back and been like WHOLLY COW how did i ever get through that w/o just shutting down.. you would never be able to have that becuase you'd be dreading everthing for ever!!!! ahhhh

I know my future. I will die...between now and then I'm not too certain and I don't want to be...every day is a surprise.
