A self-righteous religious person sees no grey area, "my God said we must live this way!". When a self-righteous religious person kills someone based on a religious belief, they feel no guilt, quite the opposite, they feel they have served God and will even praise him before and during the killing as with the infamous "Alluah Akbar" before and during a murder.
Go to death row and look at the lowest of the low. Some of them feel guilt for their crime. Some feel nothing. But it is only the self righteous religious murderer that feels fullfillment, that instead of being emptied or guilted to depression they are edified and martyred.
Nothing is so vile and so inhuman as the self-righteous religious person.

No, the self-righteous are the worst. I believe in God but I am smart enough to the difference between "belief" and "Knowing". If God is infinite then there is no way that any human can know...dead or alive!!!

There is nothing more inhumane and vile as the hateful athiest. I remember a story I heard recently from a friend I have at my church. "A man with a gun pointed it at the head of one of the two girls and said 'are you one of those christians?' She said 'yes' and the man shot her. The man then turned around to the other girl and said, 'Same question!' The girl stared at the gun, the man said again 'Same question! Are you one of those christians?' She said, 'I know I am going to heaven when you pull that triger.' The man smiled, raised the gun to her head and killed her."

A Self-Righteous Religious Person who ends up being right. It's one thing to have to listen to someone who's being self-righteous, but worse if it turns out they end up being correct and you have to begrudgingly admit it. It empowers them.

Yes!!! A self-righteous religious person who does not believe the same as you! The zealot of an opposing faith is usually considered "evil personified" whereas a zealot of your own faith is just psychotic.
