Hi there!!

It depends on how you do it. The anal opening is very tight, and the anal passage isn't straight, it twists and turns. Most people who want to have anal sex use a small amount of lube, and without proper warm-up they put it in and it ends up being very uncomfortable and sometimes painful. If you're wanting to try anal sex, here are a few tips:

1) ALWAYS use a condom, and change it when you're done before you have regular intercourse. The anus has numerous types of bacteria that can cause problems and infections if the penis is put into the vagina with the same condom on.

2) Start out small. Have your partner put a condom one their index finger, use a liberal amount of lubrication and slowly ease the finger into your rectum. It will be an odd feeling, but makre sure you are relaxed, calm, and the best position to do so is on your knees "doggy style".

3) Once you are used to having one finger in your rectum, ask your partner to put another finger in. This will gradually warm you up and get you to the level of comfort to have a penis inside of you.

4) When you are feeling comfortable, have your partner put on a condom, add lubrication to your rectum and to their penis and *slowly* insert it into your anus. If you're feeling ANY pain whatsoever, tell them to stop and let you rest.

5) There is no such thing as too much lubrication. I can't stress this enough!! If you start to feel dry or have a burning sensation, use more lubrication. As a side note: make sure you don't use a lubrication that can weaken the latex of the condom. Stick with a water-based lube rather than a silicon-based.

6) There are gels on the market that help with anal sex, too. The gel is a desensitizing gel that will numb you to a certain extent to help with the initial insertion of the penis.
