Why or why not?
I personally do think it should, for many reasons too numerous to place here, but please do not whine to me about my opinions, I am simply asking for yours.
If you do whine about my opinions, you will be reported.

"yes i do think it should be banned and why would you want to report someone. youre awful edgy. did you just quit smoking."
I just wanted to cut down on the idiotic remarks. Did you notice it worked? I only reported one person :-)
Let's just allow suicide... Also, what about secondhand smoke? I see that as a less severe form of murder...
I realize the whose debate about freedom... Why don't we just legalize all drugs! Yay freedom!

I think it should be banned. I don't understand why people do that...especially if they are religious as most religious people against suicide!
Whenever I see someone smoking or lighting a cigarette, I often assume that they are on fire; so, I scream "Stop, drop, and roll!" and proceed to tackle them. I've gotten a few bruises that way...
But what if they really were on fire? It's better to be safe than sorry.

I totally agree with you...I do not like to breathe the smoke nor do I enjoy wreaking of smoke when I leave a building/restaurant/gathering place...not to mention all the health issues.....my dad died from smoking 2-3 packs a day for 40 years....due to emphysema complications after an abdominal aneurysm operation.....was in ICU for 3 1/2 months w/ a tracheotomy and then on oxygen for 2 years in a nursing home after that and the strain caused a fatal heart attack....it was sad to see him live like this every day....I was a there each day and saw the slow failing....YES>>>BAN THE NASTY CIGARETTES and smoking items!!!!!!

I think you are entitled to your opinion because this is a FREE Country. Smoking is not illegal so why does anyone have the right to ban it ? Personally I am allergic to perfume I get headaches & sometimes can't breath if it is to strong. Should there be a ban on perfume ? Why stop there I don't like Liver
how about banning that ? Some people don't like Baseball !
Basketball, Airplanes etc. People would be better off if they started worrying about the realy important things. Like our school systems our lousy administration in washington Etc.

I'd have to disagree only because then what is next. As Americans we have the right to choose what to do and whether or not to smoke. I find it odd that it is legal cause other drugs are illegal and don't do half the damage that smoking does so in that aspect I do agree but if we let the government control that and just tell us we can't - then what other rights are we going to hand over to them to decide so that is the problem that I see.
But - you are totally right as far as the damage that it does - it is horrible but that is our choice to make - no one makes anyone smoke but there are children and unborn babies that don't have that choice so I agree with that - I feel bad that you were so concerned with people complaining or whining about your opinion - you have a right to your opinion. =)

Yes, I hate coming in from a night out and smelling it. I also hate it when people can't have a fag, say, when waiting in an airport lounge and the pace up and down tryigngto get out. Ban it in public places then I believe more poeple will quit. If you're not allowed to smoke in the restaurant then they will have to go outside and if there weathers bad maybe they will be forced not to.

I think smoking should be banned because if you think about it smoking doesn't benefit anyone or anything. Smoking is harmful to yourself and the environment. It can cause lung cancer and heart diease. Smoking bothers people around you and face it you're forking out your hard earned money to big coperate companies who are getting rich while you shorten your life. People end up tossing cigarette butts on streets while driving and that is washed to the ocean. Most smokers are too stupid to find where the trash can are and they end up littering.
Smoking should be banned It doesn't benefit anyone or anything except the smoking companies.

This countries major export ,while it was growing, was tobacco. is it bad ? hell yeah, it kills. but should the people who rely on it be faced w/ forced withdrawls? i dont think so. You can't or at least shouldn't force things on people. It's you know simple liberties that seperates america from the "infidels".The only way to get rid of tobacco is to strike the tobacco corporations. Protest if you would like or you can take a stronger action although you may be labled a terrorist. The gov't relies on large corpoartions for support. Destroy the manufacturer and destroy the product. Make it unavailable. and win.
P.S. if this doesn't make sense to you its because im drunk.

First of all I am not a smoker and am offended by cigarette smoke. I hate to go in any public place and be bombarded with their ugly habit. I mean I try not to fart in public.
But banned? I think they have the right to their filthy habit in the privacy of their own home. I think it's a bit too much to outlaw it.
I just think they should be prohibited from invading my space (public or otherwise) with their filthy and potentially harmful addiction.

Regrettably I am a smoker,I would like to quit, have tried to quit.I don't think it should be banned though. We smokers pay alot of money for cigarettes,if we are not invading any ones space I think we should be able to smoke where ever,we even have assigned places to smoke outside, there are people who do things that offend me but I don't think they will be banning picking your nose or chewing with your mouth open anytime soon.

Yes, by all means. And fattening foods, dangerous or contact sports, caffienne, driving, walking on stairs, weightlifting, overworking, air conditioning, gas heat, fossil fuels, non educational television shows, guns, knives, nail clippers, and alcohol.
Oh wait, didn't they try it once with alcohol?
And I didn't see whining as a reportable offense.
