Actually eating 6 meals makes your metabolism faster. It is a fact that if you eat 6 small healthy meals a day, your metabolism speeds up. That is why they probably have a fast metabolism--they eat six meals a day, but i doubt that it is on purpose. It is true though, skinnier people with a fast metabolism eat more food than people who are average weight and have an average metabolism.

I am a grazer too. Everybody laughs at my desk at work here because I've got more food here than a supermarket. However, I am one of the thinner ones.

On average, I eat no less than 6 meals a day. Some are fairly big (800 calories) and others are smaller -- about 300.

Eating does burn calories, since your body must digest the food (and that's work).

I do work out a lot, so that would explain why my metabolism is high as well. In fact, I get that very hungry feeling if I don't eat every 2 hours or so.

But just about every report I've read on successful weight loss and spiking your metabolism suggests you should eat a small meal (300 - 400 calories) 6 times a day.
